Durant, Ok
Ok I've spent the last week google searching, reading forums, looking at websites, watching youtube vids, and emailing different e-cig companies and I still can not decide which one I should buy. I initially started looking with the idea of finding the E-cig most similar to a normal cigarette but just about everything i find says that they're inferior to a pen style. I also wanted to find one with a large variety which has proven confusing. One site seemed like a good bet until i found reviews and other things suggesting they're the equivalent to buying a knock off dollar store zippo wanna be rather than spending the $30 on the real thing. I've been there and done that and don't want to make that mistake again. So I decided to ask on here if people would be willing to post and or email me their favorite ecig brand and style and why. I would like to finally be able to make up my mind and find something good before it's time to order my cigarettes again (i buy mine online because where I live even generic crap cigarettes are $40 a carton) Also, I cant afford to do as some people have mentioned and buy multiple ecigs to try them out. I can only afford to buy one for the foreseeable future so I'd like to do it right the first time and not be booting myself in the rear until I have the money to try again
Thanks in advance for any answers that i may get

If you can only afford $ 100.00

How are you going to buy the cartridges you're going to need?
How are you going to pay for the liquid you're going to need?

When you want to start E-smoking at first there's a cost.
It's like an investment.

I do not have 5 different devices.
I have 2.
The kiss classic and the kiss jentl.

I only use the classic.
I have invested money, but now I spend a lot less a month then I was smoking the real thing.

I have not touched a real cigarette in over a month.
Think about what that did my health?
Yes?

So, you have to invest some money.
E-smoking is different than buying a pack of cigarettes a day, or a carton at the time.

You can not compare the two.

ok I just used the $100 as an example. and I buy my cigarettes 5 cartons at a time. My plan is to make up my mind before I reorder so that I can spend the money I'd spend on cigarettes + whatever it takes to get this instead. I understand that the initial cost is more. As i said ive been researching this all week. I don't need financial advice I want advice on which style and brand is the best in your opinion. I can handle my own funds I just don't have so much extra money to go out and buy multiple starter kits to decide which i like the best and the others be a total waste of money. It's a bit foolish and I can think of plenty of other things i can spend the extra money on.

I live in Arizona and my budget can cover all of the E-cigs out there but only once. IE I can afford to spend $100 on a starter kit but I cant afford to buy 5 different ones to make up my own mind
basically you have 2 choices...

1-you can get a starter kit from njoy or janty for just over $100...then every time you need a replacement part in the year following purchase, you contact them and theyll post you one.
read the comments on this forum carefully, and see if these products would suit you.

2-buy a good generic ecig for around $50,and buy your own cheap spares for it at approx $10 each...
this might be your best option until you know if you actually like esmoking-initially spend as little as you can,but get a good ecig...
plus you wont be left waiting for the mailman if a part craps out,if this is going to be your sole ecig.
this fellow sells good ecigs,he's a forum member called Cashmere-
PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories!
there are a few others also...read the suppliers section, and PM any of them with any questions.

Well, I usually recommend Janty Kissbox Classic, njoy penstyle, or soemthing from puresmoker.com to people.

If you don't know what you want, or what style, I'd say to buy both the pen style and mini style from puresmoker, then you have both styles. Both should work very well. And they're only $50 each per starter package, so you can get both and it'd be about the same as getting a starter package from njoy or a kissbox. Or just get either one with 4-5 spares and it'd be around $100.

In general the pen styles are better imo, and hold more liquid so you don't have to fill up as much. I have never tried a mini personally, but I'll be getting a 901 soon. Right now I have a classic kissbox from Janty and a penstyle from Njoy and I like both very much.

im not sure a ton will cover even the more expensive models. the n'er goes for $109 without the discount you can find here on the forum.

ryle, it breaks down like this, you can buy one of the heavily marketed expensive ones, pay a premium and when the thing goes .... up, you get on the phone and they send you out a replacement part that is covered under their year warranty. (always check the warranties) otherwise you can go to the supplier section here and check out some of the deals the sellers are pushing. all of them that contribute to this forum are reliable as far as i know. they will advise you to buy spare parts cause, they can break often, but it is not always the fault of the device. the user has to be cautious not to let the liquid run dry and dont bash the batts around....

i think most of the re-sellers will over you a months warranty but even that is generous. you could be buying atts and batts as frequently as one of either a week, but personally i have been using 4 of each for two months now which were cheap generic penstyles and only 1 batt has died. i cylcle their use..day on, day off, so the little guys get some kip. i also clean them, read them a bed-time story and kiss them good night but some call me over-zelous.

if you were to throw down the big bones (>$150+), i would go for the janty kiss-box, it is unique in so far as it uses a manual switch and can be plugged in directly to a usb port (i think?).

if you want to buy from the devil, buy the loong totem. its completely unique in so far that each cartridge contains its own disposable atomizer...these are cheap, but wait, you didnt read the fine print, did you? and now the devil is laughing and you have been violated.

also dont forget, you could splash out on a branded but buy cheap carts that will fit it. njoy just use a rebranded generic penstyle, though they have improved the tech of their atomizer from what i heard. not sure how compatible kiss-box classic is with carts, but you can always buy cheap carts take out the wadding and put it into your classic cart or buy the liquid and fill em that way, though i dont think janty are rip-off merchants on their carts...njoy though need a whipping. but they gotta pay for all those returned ats some way.

also many big names offer a 1 month return policy, no questions asked though make sure you can test the kits out under this policy...aiiii!

my final advice, head over to the supplier forum, check out the deals, go for a pen or a dse901, get a total of 3 atts and 3 batts. 50 assorted carts...~$100-$120. see what you think!

i'll make it even simpler...

1-if you want to buy a cheap but very good ecig with cheap spares, then get one of these-they are the ones puresmoker and a few others sell-

Penstyle---get an RN-4072
Mini------- get a DSE-901

i recommend both these ecigs.
the penstyle batteries and cartridges last much longer than the mini...but the mini is tough and a great little ecig.

2-if you want a more expensive one, with the service contract then get a-

Kissbox classic
Njoy

Ryle, nobody can give you what you want. There's no perfect e-cig out there. At the very least, you'll probably end up trying mini, super-mini and penstyle e-cigs to see which one suits you (each style has it's fans). There are also e-cigars, e-cigarillos and e-pipes, but they're generally for later consideration.

Best advice? Pick the style you think you'll like and get a generic from one of the US independents (Meltrex, PureSmoker or e-smokey-treats are all forum members and well spoken of here). You might get lucky and bullseye the style straight away. Run with it for a couple of weeks and if you still like it, juice and spares will be your only further outlay.

Be prepared for further investment though, it'll probably be necessary (or even just something you want to do when you see how cool this is).

Welcome to the forum

I appreciate all the responses I've gotten. It's clarified quite a bit about what I wanted to know. The only questions I really have left is 1 how do I tell which ones have interchangeable cartridges? most look the same to me. Also Ive seen things for what i assume is liquid refills but the sites aren't always detailed in exactally how that works or the compatibility. My guess would be that the liquid is the liquid and can go into any cartridge? is this accurate or am I totally off base?

Spot on. The liquid can be used to top off any cart. Or you can buy empty carts and fill them or wash the filling from a used cart (to prevent mixing tastes) and drip onto that. A lot of users also drip a few drops directly onto the atomiser. This produces way more vapour than cart smoking but can be risky for the atomiser. If you go this route start with one or two drops.

So in reality i could just get a starter kit (or two) and instead of having to buy extra cartridges from that same site i could go to a site that has a larger variety of flavors in liquid form and purchase the liquid in order to try more flavors? sounds like the most cost effective solution to me

Yup. Very few members get much beyond the Njoy sample pack that ships with the device. I dropped $100 on 4 boxes of carts. Loved the stuff, amongst the best I've tasted. Reorder? Fuggedaboudit...

You seem to know a lot. How do you tell which site has which brand? My friend is the one that got me looking into this whole thing and he got his off of supercig.com which is actually local to me but crown7 actually has cartridges and parts in local stores so if i ran out or something i could just run down and pick em up instead of having to wait on shipping. this is what got me questioning compatibility. I don't know how to tell and a lot of people aren't listing the models. Not trying to be annoying I swear. I just like to think things to death before I spend money. My way of preventing buyers remorse

Surefire program tyo prevent buyer remorse

You'll need 4 devices- A Loongtotem kit which will run you $250 to start, a PartySmoker Party pipe hwich will run you $250 to start, a Janty Kissbox Classic which will run you $140 or so to start, and some Ruyan Throwaway Cigars which you cna pick up on the cheap for about $146 for 5, you might aLso want ot htrow in the GreenCig which will run you about $150, then pick up a DSE 901 for abotu $50, then you'll need some smokin juice- probably 3 bottles which will run ya abotu $60, and soem spare atomizers for all yourdevicesm abd some cartridges and extra batteries which will run another $100-$150

After that you should be set to go

It's OK mate, we all started out right where you are now, I asked loads of questions when I started and I wouldn't be repaying the people who answered me if I clammed up on you.

Anyway, here in UK we have no retail outlets for this stuff, it all comes mail order, which is why everyone bangs on about holding spares. Have you actually seen this stuff in stores, btw? I heard Target were going to carry NJOY e-cigs but I hadn't heard they'd made it to shelf yet - this is a big deal for us. The forum's split about 50/50 between 'get 'em out there so we can vape in bars' and 'stay under the radar so they don't get banned'.

Most of the US independents carry devices that you can identify by the model numbers

Pen - RN4072
Mini - DSE901
Supermini - RN4081

If I was you I'd go with one of the independents for either a pen or a mini. You will not be disappointed and as a relatively inexpensive intro to e-smoking you'll be really pushed to do better.

As a last thought, here are the forum IDs of some of the independents who are well spoken of.

Meltrex - MyEcig.com Your Online Shopping For Electronic Cigarettes
Cashmere - PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories!
Phylo - e-Smokey Treats - Welcome

Good luck and if there's anything else you need, just ask.
