I have recently bought an ecig again after giving up the real ones numerous times.

I love Ecigs and I am determined to stay on them now.

However, I am having trouble choosing an ecig that is good and affordable.

At the moment i am using the E-Lites cigarette. It was for sale at my local garage so was convenient to buy at the time. I really like it but at £7.99 for 2 refill cartridges it's just not affordable. They say it is the equivalent to 80 real cigs. But it's really not. Most of the time i get through a cartridge per day, I can maybe stretch them to 2 days. But the vapor is poor on the second. I only used to smoke about 10 - 12 roll ups per day. So it's much more expensive for me to smoke the Elites.

Also, the battery doesn't seem to be very good. I have to charge it a couple of times a day.

The Flavour is great. So is the vapor for the first couple of hours of use. Then it goes down hill.

I have been searching these forums and the internet to try and find the most cost effective Ecig out there. But I am blown away with the choice that there is.

Could anyone recommend me a brand that is more affordable than the Elite, but still has a good taste? I would hate to go back to the real thing, but at this rate i'm worried i can't afford to vape.

I don't mind paying a bit more for a good model... As long as the refills aren't crazy in price. Thanks for any help.

First off welcome to ECF! I recommend getting in 5 posts ASAP in order to get full access to all the forums.

Dont worry, your issues are very common with the small analog lookalikes. The next step up would be be an ego style batt along with buying blank cartos and juice.

There are tons of suppliers out there and you can find some very good info in our suppliers forum.

Usually the first thing is getting away from those type of ecigs. They are expensive and downright deceitful saying they last 80 cigaretters or whatever. The ego is a great option and its where I started. If you want it to look like a cigarette get something with a personal carrying case (pcc) and the key is to get something refillable. You'll be amazed how much cheaper it is to refill yourself

Hello & welcome Matt :)

I'm also in the UK & have lost track of the number of folks who are disappointed with the over priced elites - there is no way their cartomisers are the equivalent of what they claim - more like about 8 cigs max.

As Silent Scream says, if you don't mind your e-cig not looking like a real cig, then go for an ego or Riva. This is an excellent one from a UK e-cig vendor with customer service second to none - use discount code ECF10 for 10% off -

The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Oops, just noticed they have sold out on the black & SS ones at the moment.

Hi,

Fairly new vapor myself. About 3 weeks vaping after being on analogs for many many years. I was more interested in a cig style model and that's where i spent my time looking.

Started with a v2 model (https://www.v2cigs.com) as i was hesitant to deal with tanks and attys, and wanted to something super easy to deal with even though it really seemed to be e-juice offered many more choices for flavors

A friend showed me his eRoll and that nailed it for me. Simple, easy to use, easy to charge, and it uses the juices.

eRoll starter kits seem to run 50-80 USD depending on vendor. I could not be happier with this device. I'm not one looking to get into bigger mods and the like so this device is perfect for me. If the larger mods are what you are after this might not be for you. There are some fairly long threads on the eRolls now if you want some more info.

Take care,
A

I think I understand where you're at. I was very confused too, matter of fact I'm still confused on a lot of stuff. I'll try to simplify it the best I can I'm still pretty new myself at this stuff.

What you need is a quality battery, a charger for the battery, and at least one backup battery. Then a tank or cartridge to hold the liquid and then an atomizer and possibly a wick depending on the type of system. If you get something like a vision vivi nova the atomizer heads are replacable and include a wick also so it's really only the battery and tank you have to worry about. The easiest thing to do when you're new is to buy a starter kit. That's what I did but looking back it would have been cheaper and easier to buy the parts separate.

I also picked up a carrying case for mine that fits in my pocket and carries extra juice, tanks, and the extra battery so I'm good for a day no matter where I'm going.

I ended up buying an ego-c 650 starter kit. It was so much better than the disposables, the blu and all that cigalike crap. I quickly got frustrated with the carto whatever they are called on the starter kit and just used the batteries with a vision vivi nova tank. That's been working for a couple of months pretty well.

There are plenty of forum vendors on here to check out. I'm sure more people will chime in. Some of us love the novas some hate them. Some want a bigger battery then the 650 or may even go for the twist which is a little more expensive but you can adjust the output.

Once you get all this hardware stuff straightened then it's the fun part. Trying all the different juices you read about on here.

Thank you. I hope to be around for a while. I am getting the feeling that a lot of these Ecig companies are charging outrageous prices because they know that people keen to quit the real things are desperate. I'm glad there are places out there to purchase affordable models and refills.

Just a question.. i presume that the VE Riva and EGO are the type that would need refilling myself using the liquid?

Thank you for the informative replies, everyone.

I like the look of the Ego 650. The reviews look good too. But with the starter kit I presume I will get everything I need to get going as it's a 'starter kit' and then i would have to replace the parts as and when I need to. I'm guessing certain parts will wear out quicker than others.

i also see that the refill liquid is around £4.00 for 10ml. Forgive my ignorance, but how long would 10ml last? I think I will have a look on some 'how to' youtube videos to get the general idea.

You are so right Matt about some of the companies that can afford to spend so much on advertising, selling over priced, under performing kits. For instance, this kit is as good, if not even slightly better than an elite -

As for the Riva or ego needing refilling, yes they come with cartomisers or clearomisers tha do need filling & refilling, but you can buy any 510 prefilled cartomisers to use with them if you prefer.

I think many people aren't impressed with the various atty setups that are supplied with Ego kits, while the batteries have pretty much become a staple. If you are ordering an Ego starter kit, you might consider getting a pack of clearomizers like CE3 or even a tank setup like vivi nova, E1, Stardust, Kanger T2.. just for some variety and experience to see what you like. Most of what I listed are around $10 or less.

Well I ended up purchasing a EGO C Starter kit with a 30ml bottle of B+H Flavour liquid. So that should keep me going. It all came to £39.00 including delivery so not too bad. I have worked it out that this will cost Pence to use every day... Rather than pounds. So over all I am happy with this.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Hello and welcome Mattt. Congrats on ordering the eGo C. I would just like to point out that an easy upgrade is to buy an eGo twist battery. It will allow you to customize your vaping experience, and it will easily fit any carts/clears/tanks you end up using. Best of luck.
