I just picked up the indulgence, and it's my 1st 3.7v device. Being a 510 user, I immediately strapped on my 510 cartos and went to town. I've notice that I don't get any throat hit from the 510 adapter, and the flavor seems a bit subdued with all my regular juices. Is there something to higher voltage vaping that I'm not getting?

The kit also came w/ a lr 510 atty. Loaded that up, and it's slightly better, but almost no hit like I was getting w/ my 510.

I also got some 808 cartos, which have SUCH an airy draw it's ridiculous. I don't think I should have to mod the air-flow to get the draw I want, but I guess I'm open to it.

Overall, unless I'm vaping some Cinnacide, I'm getting a pretty mixed experience. Any suggestions, or is higher voltage vaping just not for me?

What unit were you using before? The Indulgence is not considered a high voltage device at 3.7V, just a long lasting high drain bettery. At 6V with the stacked LiFeP0's or 5V with the pass-trough you'd be getting a higher voltage experience, but most, if not all standard e-cig batteries operate at 3.7 volts.

Good point. I was using a 510 mega batt prior. But I just feel like the Indulgence isn't giving me the same pop w/ the same atomizers and cartos that I had been using.

I do have the Indulgence, and have had some problems with the airflow of cartoz as well. Need to fiddle with them a bit to get the desired hit. I tend to stick to the LR 510's and either 901/HV801 for 6V vaping as I find the 510 loses all flavor at 6V.

The only thing that may be getting in the way is dirty connectors or batteries that haven't been fully charged...unless the batteries you got are faulty...??

I don't have the sleeve to go to 6v, and fully charged the batteries up prior to running with it. I am getting lots of vapor, just not any real throat hit, unless I vape like Cinnacide.

I may just have to fiddle w/ the connectors to get a better connection. I noticed that at first, the 808 cartos wouldn't screw on all the way. Just tried it a bunch of times w/ a few different ones, and finally it went...but the draw is WAY WAY too airy.

Yeah, I've heard others having similar probs with the 808. Never used it myself. I think I just got used to the feel of the unit after a few weeks use, but it's true that the connectors are different than my stock 510's...i.e. sometimes less airflow with cartoz = less throat hit on the indulgence.

Dunno if there's any modding to the adapters that can improve this. I'd be interested if there were...

I just slapped on the LR atty I have...and I must have done something different...because it was rocking! Guessing I figured I knew what I was doing. I'm slowly climbing the boon hurdle. I'll keep plugging away with this thing. I have some new 510 cartos coming, so I'll put them through their paces as well.

OK...so I think I've made some progress and much of my worry/fear/complaint can be chalked up to the learning curve w/ the Indulgence.

I was trying to tighten the cartos/attys down as tight as I possibly could, and it seems that was part of the problem. I was over-tightening them and it was pressing down on the center pole creating a weak draw.

I think having been mainly a 510 guy at this point in my vaping career, I also just have trouble consistently hitting the 808 cartos. Sometimes I get great draw and flavor and vapor, and other times I just don't.

But, if you have an Indulgence, don't try and tighten attys/cartos down much beyond hand-tight, or you'll probably end up with a similar experience.

I too did not like the super airy draw on the 808 cartos. There is a super cheap and easy fix. I got a pack of really small rubber "O" rings. I put one on the indulgence right at the base of the 808 adapter (where the air vents are). That tightened up the draw just enough to make them great.

Much of my issue was simply how tight I was trying to screw things down. I'm REALLY liking the device after week 1.

I Noalox'ed the threads which has helped a bunch with how the device fits together. I don't feel like I'm going to break it when I change batteries anymore. As for the draw, I was trying to screw the carto's down too tight. I got that adjusted.

I will say that not all 808 cartos are made equal though. The ones from V4L are much better than the cheapo blank ones I got from VaporJunction.

I just logged on to ask about this problem.

I'm having this problem now with my Indulgence. Seems like twice the flavor and vapor from a regular charged 510 battery(3.7v) than my Indulgence 18350 or 18650 (4.25v). Changed batteries, cleaned contacts, same result. Could the switch be drawing a bunch of power?

Just pulled out the old 510s because I had to send back one of my Indulgences due to the threads wearing out. Gotta get some Noalox.

The 808 draw makes me want to pass out also, they are so airy.

Bump!

So I recently got a 14500 box mod. It's a 3.7v and only running on one 14500. With the same LR atty on this or my Indulgence, the Indulgence always sucks in comparison. Even with batteries fully charged, the box mod wins hands down.

Might it be the batteries I got with the Indulgence? They seem fairly generic, but the 18350's are rather hard to find, unless I want to wait for them to get here from China.

This thread doesn't inspire much confidence in the Indulgence. Grab yourself a Buzz and be done with it.

I have an Indulgence and it wasn't much chop on 3.7v, lucky I got the 6v cup and batts with it and it was spot on, I loved it.

I think the switch was adding more resistance or slowing the flow of electricity somehow, as it didn't seem as good on 3.7v as my 901,510 and KR8 batts, so I pulled it apart to have a look at it.... not much to see really- but in the process I broke the switch.
Not wanting to go back to carrying 10 batts a day, I decided to use it without the switch, just by screwing the carto/atty in for on and out for off.
It took a bit of getting used to, but I couldn't vape this way on 6v all day, it was much to hot and burney.... so I went back to 3.7v (still without switch) and found it pretty good.

I concluded (unscientifically) that the switch was indeed the problem on 3.7v.... but was also excellent for HV vaping as it gave a "sweetspot" 5V experience rather than a normal 6v-8.4v too hot experience.

Mine may have been a 1 off, or something may have been wrong with it so YMMV, but to check... try using it without the switch and compare performance. (just remember to unscrew atty/cart after each drag)

I do have a few boxmods too, and I love the 5v Stompbox.... but the Indulgence is great for a solid/cheap "take anywhere and treat me bad" device, that my boxmods would not put up with.
