It can be done!
Got that little 9/32 neopreme rubber grommet for a dollar at the local Home Depot.
Matched it with a 901>510 eGo adapter on my 808/901 IP connection.
(tried the overpriced Empire mod thingy - hated it. Sorry guys)

The grommet really gives a nice finishing touch. I've got a 510-ego adapter on a Copper Hex unit. The ego cone rides about 1/2 in above the top cap. Looks a little strange, but on the Copper mod, anything is strange. I'm definitely going to do the grommet trick when my BP arrives. Thanks!

Something I should point out relevant to this is one of the reasons I chose a 808/901 connection on my IP was so that an adapter (in my case, a 901>510 ego) would sit flush to the tip of the PV, leaving only 1/4" of space to deal with between the PV and the ego threads, whereas attaching an adapter to a native 510 connection adds an extra 1/4" to that space. Your post seems to confirm this (1/2" of space).
IOW, you might require two grommets instead of just one.

Since I thought that it would be another week or three before I received it, I sent a request to see if I could add a voltage meter to my order without paying extra shipping. Well, long story short, when I got home from work yesterday, a response came that got me quite excited...it has shipped! Order #2746

The main reason to let you know is that I still have not received an 'official' email and the website still indicates my order status as Awaiting Fulfillment....

Don't want to get your hopes up (or mine) but there you go

Good job picking an Infinity Pro -- my original Infinity is going strong, especially with the upgrade of adding the IP bottom cap (nice to be able to turn my Infinity Off when carrying it in a pants pocket )

And thanks markfm. After all my research, ordering SOMETHING from the Buzz line seemed a no brainer. Wanted something a little smaller and lighter than a BuzzPro.

Man I do feel lucky.

I ordered 2 chargers w 5 pairs of batteries to get the free shipping. Thought the free shipping would be 1st class mail. Just checked, and it's shipping priority mail. So there is a good chance I'll receive it before weeks end!

Thing is, I'm taking my youngest camping, and won't be home before Saturday. So I have to put my wife on mailbox duty. Good thing I didn't go with the BUZZ Pro. There would be no way in hell she wouldn't open a package that says BUZZ Pro on it.
