Our fight really isn't about facts or science but about public perception at this point. To that end a friend of mine has been putting together factoids for use in advocating, so far he has made some for WA State, however he will be adding more as he gets them made.

His blog for this is Vaping Calls To Action | Repository of images for use in advocating for ecigs and against their over regulation on social media

Ones for WA so far are:

These images are free to use and are intended to provoke thought and promote debate by the general public amongst themselves and with their elected representatives. No link back to their origin is required in using them nor credit sought for the creation of them. Any suggestions for wording of more is welcomed. Please use and distribute openly in whatever forum or social media setting you desire.

Very good indeed. I have just one suggestion: background picture makes it difficult to read, so may be reducing contrast of picture (to make it faded) will help.

EDIT: What about something like this:
We, ex-smokers, switched to e-cigs not to die from lung cancer. HB1122 will make us to die from lung cancer.

I'm not sure if this is an angle we wanna take.

Non-smokers are gonna see a hole in the budget that smokers were filling.

Unless they are stupid they know the state isn't gonna stop giving money to people who refuse to work.

This money has to come from somewhere.

If not smokers or vapers then...................................

Wait for it...................

Non-smokers!!! Themselves in other words.

If they know the facts they may very well vote to throw us under the bus. Getting people to vote against self-interest is tough. Well not tough, IMPOSSIBLE.

Oh no they don't.

Be honest with them. Lay it all out and let them decide.

Your taxes are gonna go up. Way up.

Vapors aren't gonna die when we are supposed to. Pensions and retirement costs are gonna go way up. Which means your taxes are gonna go up farther.

Vapors aren't gonna get sick as much which means the cut of medicine we been paying is gonna get passed on to non-smokers, unless doctors and phama are willing to take cuts.

Or you non-smokers could just see to it vaping is made illegal or taxed the same as smoking and you won't have to pay any of it let the smokers pay.

It looks like you you are talking about politicians. Commoners have higher moral standards.

If tobacco taxes don't bring in the money guess who pays?
Remember we are talking hundreds of billions of dollars, that pave roads, support schools and healthcare,
Politicians hands are tied, because they accepted this to fund projects and services.
Not many people will vote to cover those expenses with a major increase in their own tax bill.

It's a nightmare situation caused by greedy politicians who needed money to find their projects.

Placing budget needs on the backs of smokers was an insane, borderline criminal act.

People need to know how their states are screwing with them and their money, they need to know things like how the states got MSA money to spend on medical and education, but then took loans/bonds against it promising money they haven't gotten yet in return. Money that is dependent on the very thing they say they want to stop, which is smoking.

It is also our RIGHT to know how this money is getting used, and why it isn't going to the stuff it should be going to.

Why when WA has all this money going into general fund are they saying they can't afford to pay teachers? This isn't about taxes going up, this is about questioning the poor planing and spending of our government, and wanting answers for it!

One of the arguments used against vaping is children getting a hold of it. WA state was one of the first to ban sales to minors, and it was vapers who pushed that, not ANTZs.

So, again something the public needs to know, if the state was enforcing the laws they already have, then minors wouldn't be getting a hold of e-cigs in this state to start with, more laws doing the same won't help.

Also, if they are worried about money for the state, what do you think putting 160 small business out of business will do? Those vape shops pay taxes, they put people to work, they bring business into their communities. All that will be lost.

It is gonna have to come to head at some point, using borrowed money on a sin tax is not how we should be supporting general services such as schools which have federal monies supporting them that they are not getting...

I fully support this effort to bring facts to the surface on how things are actually being done... I will be tweeting the above images to let my legislators know that we are on to their Bull... the lawmakers need to be held accountable for decisions they make on behalf of citizens. It is our constitutional duty to question them and keep them in check, or else things like this happen all the time... so lay down if you choose, just be sure to do it face-down to allow easy access for your legislator when he chooses to bend you over...
