Don't reviewers in the US have to disclose if they were given anything in return for reviewing something? I remember hearing something along those lines but don't remember anything specific.

As far as finding a good reviewer, it doesn't really bug me if they get the item they are reviewing for free because the good ones still give a legit review no matter if they got the item for free or not.

"I read it on the internet, so it has to be true! They can't put anything that isn't true on the internet, I read that on the internet as well!"
No, they don't have to disclose that information, I think most are fairly biased, but like to hear themselves a lot!

I don't think a veteran is going to flame anyone that finds something that works for them. The problems arise when someone with a low post count comes in and says "I've got no budget and want the best vape ever!" What do you recommend to them? I've no idea of their skill set! I saw a guy recommend a NGP hybrid to a person with 15 posts the other night! The OP was talking about EGO's and here comes the NGP suggestion? Sure, it was in the price range, but................
The biggest problem I see with newbies, is they get a lot of advice from people that don't want to listen to what they are asking for!
"I want a VV for $75, what do I buy?" Three posts in, or less, "Buy a Provari!"
"I want to spend $200 for a complete setup, thoughts?" This is a can of worms! Someone with 20 posts will come in and say get an IHybrid or some other Genny setup, while others are talking about EGO's, clearomizers and juice!
I implore, PLEASE, read and THINK about what the OP is asking for! If you have 15 posts, I don't really think you are ready to talk about Genny's and rba's with knowledge, much less do I think someone just starting out NEEDS one!
Sorry about my rant, just have seen a lot of this and "in fighting" of late, it's not about what's best, it's about what works for who's asking and we really need to listen to them!

Anyone new read this, then read it again, the dudes speaks the truth, don't go for "bling" straight off, do some research first, also do look at the post counts for members on forums before taking there opinion as gospel. I'm still low but we all got to start some place and remember if it gets you off analogs the money's not lost, it's an investment.

Now, I'm going back to being a hermit.

It's been my observation that post count can not be used to determine the validity of the advice given. Some people with low post counts are very experienced but have only recently joined ECF or don't post a lot. Some people with high post counts seem to think that newbies should suffer through a series of inadequate equipment the same way they did when vaping technology was abysmal at best.

Correct mate, but for a very " general" overview it's always best to do some kind of research, be it post counts, fourm threads, or even just Google, a lot of us Noobs get blinded by the bling factor, ( I know I did, but then I stood back ).

Hello, and welcome to the club.

We here in this club read and explore what the newbies stated needs are.
And then we do the unthinkable and recommend something along the lines of what they are looking for.

Yeah, I know it is sort of old-fashioned, but that's just how we are,
:)

I tend to stray at time myself, but have to step back and think about what I am suggesting. No, I wasn't implying that post count was the only measure of worth. But if a member has 15 posts and joined last week, I can't quantify how much that person really knows what's in the best interest of the person asking for help.
