Hi, I'm a newb here so if there is a perfectly obvious place to find the answers to my questions plz forgive my ignorance.

I've been smoke-free using V2 ecigs for 14 weeks now, but I'm wanting to try to start using the blank cartomizers and juices. I have some questions about how this works:

  1. Some information I've seen says the cartridges can be used 2 or 3 times, some say 5. Some of this info is referring specifically to the "prefilled" (the ones I've been throwing away from V2 ), others, I'm not sure. Can someone point me to specifics on this? Specifically, I'm wanting to order some KR808D-1 blanks from freedomsmokeusa.com because as far as I can tell they will work with my V2 batteries. However, they don't say on the site how many refills I can get out of them. V2 says their blanks can be refilled 5 times.
  2. I watched a youtube video showing how to remove the mouthpiece and drip the liquid into the cartridge. I've seen other people on this forum refer to a method using a needle, but I'm having trouble finding a video demonstrating how this works. Dripping straight from the bottle looks like it's going to be very messy and wasteful. Advice?

Thanks for any help! I'm dying to try all those flavors out there. For 14 weeks I've been vaping the same flavor because I didn't know any better! Then I found this place. I love this forum!

I think you are confused between a cartridge and a cartomizer. The cartridge, aka cart, is what goes on an atomizer. The cart holds the juice. A cartomizer, aka carto, is an atomizer and cartridge combined in one unit. You really don't know how long a cartomizer will last. Some may quit after two or three refills, while others might keep going and going and... When you begin to get less flavor, it's time to refill. It seems as if the quickest way to kill a carto is let them run dry.

Someone else will have to advise you on the KR808.

Dripping with the bottle isn't that messy - just drip to the side of the chamber - not in the middle - you can flood the coil that way - I rotate it as I'm filling along the side.

You can get blunt syringes from many vendors esp. DIY shack for example and so you can 'inject' the ejuice into the filler - again on the side.

How many times you can use varies. You should be able to get at least 5 refills and I've gotten 20+ on some cartos. First sign of burnt taste - toss it. To keep that from happening - refill when you detect a loss of flavor because the next taste will be burnt.

@Bruiser: I'm confused about a lot of things ;). V2 refers to their cartridges as ... well ... cartridges. Even though they are one piece and do not plug into an atomizer. Which is better in your opinion, cartridges or cartomizers?

@Kent C: Thanks. I'm planning on ordering 5 blanks and a few 5ml bottles from Freedomsmokeusa. If I need any accessories please let me know.

Thanks!

I saw that - V2 referring to the cartos as carts... and no information on the site as to what the battery actually is. In the forums someone asked about what models are compatible and the answer was that this site wasn't used to promote other products. If you want an earful - eyeful - search V2 in the search function here. That said.... I think you're all set with the 5 blanks and a few 5ml bottles... Sometimes the end piece -mouthpiece is hard to get off - I use a dental pic - then there's sometimes a silicon ring inside - remove that and when done replace it. When I used cartos, I used a drip tip with them - available at many vendors - in that case you'd leave at least the end cap off and put the drip tip right in the chamber - however, unless you hold it at an angle - so the ejuice goes against the sides - probably should remove the drip tip to refill. ...although I've filled that way before...

Lots of one-brand 2-piece ecig sellers call them "carts" to be simple. The aren't carts. They are cartomizers, a word that means a cart and an atomizer in one piece, abbreviated carto.

Nobody will say how many refills you get. I can get 4-7 days, sometimes more. But I am not a heavy vaper.

You need to be especially careful refilling cartos because you have auto batteries. All KR808D-1 batteries have an open hole in the middle of the threaded end, but only the autos are totally dependent on a drag sensor in that hole. If a refilled carto drips, it will drip right on that hole.

Actually that was my shorthand - the site actually said 'cartridges' and frankly they should know better.

I think many don't want to confuse people with a big word they never heard. Vapor4Life calls them carts. Places that sell both 2-piece and 3-piece ecigs, especially multibrand hardware vendors, usually call them by their correct names.

re filling

I pop the cap and drip into the stuffing

Some pop the cap and shove a syringe between the stuffing and metal side and withdraw it as they inject juice (not into the middle of the stuffing since there are wires and stuff in there)

Some push the juice in with condoms - I do not recommend that unless you have a lot of cartos to fill or have cartos with hard or glued-on caps (a fave trick of ripoff rebranders). Some also think the condom push method shortens the life of a carto
