I don't know if this has been discussed or not, however last night I had a disturbing experience with my 510.

I tend to bite a little on my cartridges and while doing so was taking a hit off my 510, the small end piece (that has the hole) of the cartridge came off and I actually inhaled it. It got lodged in my throat and I was choking pretty bad on it and had to induce vomiting to get it back up. Very scary for a minute or two...

I have now since pulled all of those end pieces off all my cartridges to prevent this from happening again, and just wanted to warn everyone else of the possible problem...

Again this was with the 510 carts

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I don't mean to laugh, but I was expecting you burnt the packing and inhaled that and your post caught me by surprise and had me LOL (I know this is serious and not funny). I just wasn't expecting that. My wife tends to gnaw on hers too (which reminds me I need to buy extra empty carts for her), I will warn her...

I really have a hard time imagining this happening. The draw on my 901 is so smooth and easy, I don't think I am ever drawing that hard that this would happen even when I throat inhale and if I chewed on the tip and it came loose.

Good heads up anyways... My wife does seem to DRAW on her e-cig harder then I do, at least it appears that way (had to choose my words carefully there, phew...).

Glad you are o.k....

I don't normally throat inhale, and didn't this time either. That little piece is so light, I didn't notice it had popped off, and when I inhaled from the mouth is when it went down my throat...

It's ok to laugh, trust me my buddies were rolling once I was ok... Didn't work in the e-cigs favor to them though.... lol, I don't think I converted anyone last night...

yup friday morning i was walking to my car with my dura in my teeth and as i sat down it popped off into the back of my throat ... gagged it back up straight away with no real danger but that is the clever bit were any excess liqued gets held stoping it going in your mouth ... so i dont want to get rid of it ...i like not having niquid in my mouth .. so now i dont hold the dura in my teeth

I suppose someone should let you know that plate with the hole in it that is still inside your cart is removable too. If you are biting down on the carts then that one can pop out also.

As a general FYI, 901 and 4075 carts are tight but they do fit into the 510 and have a whistle tip that is a bit more conducive with biting on the end of the cart. Like most carts, they also have a small end cap in them that can be popped out using a paperclip. Removing the end cap also improved the ease of draw.

The downside to removing end caps in general is the increased likelihood of getting liquid in your mouth. The end caps are all designed with a ridge on the inside of them and the purpose of that ridge is to create a barrier to keep liquid from coming through the mouthpiece.

I still remove the end caps from EVERY cartridge or tip that I use because I think they inhibit the draw and find the easier draw a bigger benefit than the risk of fluid in the mouth is a detriment. If you fill the carts yourself it is easy to keep from overfilling them and my experience has been that properly filled carts rarely spit juice.

Wow, didn't even think to try the 901 carts on it.. Works good, and yes I do prefer a whistle tip....

So, what would've happened if you didn't puke the piece out? Will it come out the other end in you're bowel movement? Just saying becuase it's probably better for the piece to go down than to go up.

The piece was actually lodged in my throat, I didn't have the option to swallow it down (I tried) up was the only way it was coming out...

OMG lock the thread!!! If the FDA gets this information they will have proof that these things are more dangerous than analogs.

Seriously though, I'm glad it worked out and you're ok.
No laughing matter. This is exactly the type of thing that gets products recalled and banned until redesigned.

This has happened to me as well, although I didn't actually inhale it, but it did come off in my mouth. As far as the 901, the little rectangular piece came off... so it is possible to do it with their carts as well. The only cart I haven't done it to are the brown 901 carts. (rounded ones)

Sorry about your misfortune. I don't even understand why they have that piece there, except for aesthetics.

The piece covers a space intended to be a safety mechanism of sorts. The idea is that the liquid that would have ended up in your mouth instead gets trapped in this space.

It works great for me as I pretty consistently overfill my carts. While it may be a way to get a better dose of nicotine the liquid tastes horrible.

Unless I am really stressed out I don't bite my PV, and when I am I use the cigar. I can gnaw on the 701 all day and it just doesn't care.

I have had the little cover come off of my Dura-C a couple of times, but I don't inhale sharply enough for it go end up in my throat.

I wonder if a little glue would be the answer to keeping those things in place. I don't know what kind of glue would be safe for that but have used a hot glue gun to keep my 701 cart fluff in place without adverse effects.
