I googled it. Excerpt:

The nicotine plasma concentrations achieved are about one third of those experienced when smoking a cigarette, and is similar to the effect of chewing one piece of 2mg Nicorette Gum hourly. The maximum plasma levels are not achieved until about 15 minutes after the 20 minutes of continuous puffing had ceased.

Is the Nicorette Inhaler right for me?
My answer... given those #'s.... NO. I'd probably be climbing the walls with 1 piece of 2mg gum hourly.... at least when I started quitting. And that's equivalent to the inhaler. Plus, it has menthol... yuck, unless very light flavor.

Really bothers me that Big Pharma can say this is a drug delivery system and sell this crap yet ecigs cant be sold the same way. I guess it's all about the money and having the license, would be super cool if all the ecig companies could pool together to get this license then trade under separate LLC's, just a thought, I know it wont happen but it just bothers me that Big Pharma can do this and smaller companies cant, it's like a monopoly they have going on and some of there test results are pure BS anyways since the proof is in the pudding that so many drugs get pulled from the market years later and law suits take place because they didn't release some of the info that could possibly happen to you from taking the Meds, seems like they have a real Monopoly going here on tobacco alternatives to me.

They have been out for several years. I still use them when vaping isn't allowed, like on an airplane when I'm sitting next to someone. There isn't any vapor. If you get them in the states you need a prescription but I used to get mine from Australia or New Zealand without a prescription. There isn't anything enjoyable about them but they will get you by in an emergency.

Eight to ten puffs on the inhaler provide about the same amount of nicotine as one puff on an average cigarette
Nicorette Inhaler consumer information from Drugs.com

What??? !! Are they freaking Nutz? You don't wean anyone off of nicotine by giving such a tiny amount that will not satisfy any cravings - That's just gonna cause people to say Screw This gimme a Cigarette!

This is a legal SCAM. This has nothing to do with getting you healthy and off nicotine. If your going to do this you might as well suck on a straw! SCAM.. EVIL Big Pharma and FDA is Scamming people!!

This country needs a Revolution. The U.S. Constitution gives me the Right to Bear Arms for the Purpose of Overthrowing the Government when it becomes Corrupt. That's Legal. Yet we don't do it because of Fear. Someone really needs to go Postal on these FDA scammers and take back our country!

Yes, both my husband and I tried to quit with Nicotrol inhalers, which are the same as non-prescription Nicorette inhalers available in other countries.

There is no comparison to an e-cigarette, but it does deliver a decent amount of nicotine to overcome a craving. It does not simulate smoking at all and they burn your throat and you feel like you hate yourself for having to take more hits off it.

Part of the problem is no heat, and the other part of the problem is no flavor (and awful taste/feeling). You do feel as though you are getting something in your lungs, but there is no visible exhale.

It is possible that these will become an OTC nicotine replacement device in the US, but unless they do something to make them desirable to use, they will never come close to vaping.

Taiwan government approve selling of Nicorette inhalers,
selling of Nicorette gum, selling of pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, and, of course, cigarettes.
Yet, selling of electronic cigarettes and e-liquid within Taiwan is banned.
Go figure.

It's terrible! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that stupidity.

Junk!!!
I tried it... sucks... tastes like fecal matter,,,involuntary coughing.
And the kicker...still wanted to smoke 2 minutes later.
E-cigs just work, I haven't had a analog in 10 days. I have a pack right here
and one in the car...haven't touched em.

Have you tried fecal matter? If so, I'd like your pros and cons, fecal matter vs ecigs please.

:p

They have them here in Canada and I tried it years ago. It definately gives you a hit of nic, but it tastes terrible and there's too much nic per puff so it sorts burns your mouth and throat (the same way flavorless Nicorette does when you leave it in your cheek).

So in short, it's fine to get your nic, but it does not feel like smoking and it's not enjoyable. In fact, I'd say it's easier to overdose on the inhaler.

I also used the Nicotrol Inhaler and was successful for one of my quits. Initially, I used it in conjunction with the patch. Went off the patch in about 2 weeks and just used the Inhaler. I stayed on the Inhaler for a couple of years until I resumed smoking again. I liked it quite well and found it perfect for work. I always had it in my hand and sometimes I fell asleep with it. I was getting ready to quit again (with the Inhaler) and stumbled upon an electronic cigarette ad. I had never heard of electronic cigarettes, but decided to give it a try. Vaping is SO MUCH BETTER, primarily because of the TH, more consistent taste and vapor. My insurance company stopped paying for them because I was on them for so long, so I had to start paying for the full cost; One box would last me about a month. Cost: $195.00/box
