So, for the last few weeks I have been vaping and smoking and never could get rid of the cigs. I had been inhaling only into my mouth and maybe exhaling out my nose. I would get nicotine but I wasn't getting the same feeling as smoking.

So I started drawing into my mouth, and then into my lungs like a cig, and then just exhaling. I haven't had a cig in a couple of days now. I dont want to keep doing this so I have been reducing how often I inhale into my lungs. I know vaping is better than smoking a cig, but still lungs were made for oxygen :)

Is this the normal method for inhaling? I know we are all different, but it really made the difference with me not craving a cig. When I tried quitting before it was the inhaling that I missed, as sick as that is in reality lol. Just curious how everyone else inhales I guess.

I still inhale vapor as I did when I was smoking; draw into the mouth first, then inhale into the lungs. But there's no right or wrong way to vape. If a direct lung inhale of vapor works best for you, and keeps you off of cigarettes, then I'd say stick with it. Anything to stay off the cigs.

What's your nicotine level at? If you enjoy a mouth draw before inhaling, a higher nicotine level will help with the throat hit.

EDIT: And like Bad mentioned above, take your time on the draw. It takes couple of seconds for the coil to warm up, unlike the immediate hit from a pull on a cigarette.

Same here. They say it takes longer for the nic to be recognized in juice and the longer it is in your mouth and nasal passages, the better.
How I inhale is a slow, gentle, 5 - 6 second draw into my mouth, inhale into my lungs, and exhale through both my nose and mouth. To new vapors, I have them imagine sucking on a straw in a thick milkshake.

I inhale directly into the lungs long deliberate draws sometimes even exceeding the 10 seconds allowed by the vamo3 after about 3-5 of this type of draws Im good to go for a 10-15 minute duration before I desire more. I was doing 2 Packs a day now im down to 2-3 cigs per day Im not quite ready to give them up yet but I do prefer the Vape over the ciggie I guess the psychological addiction is still predominate ( still want them in the morning with coffie, after eating dinner, and before bed but Im getting to a point where the after dinner one is going by the wayside) given time, I'll be just vaping

I saw a post here once about how you inhale cigs. I was an into the mouth, and then into lungs smoker. When I was first vaping I learned most of the nicotine is in your mouth, nasal cavity so I stopped inhaling into my lungs. Turns out that is what I was missing from smoking, the lung/throat hit. now I get why TH is important lol. I inhale like a straw, and but now take most of it into my lungs and then exhale thru my nose and mouth, and I am feeling very satisfied. This is what is missing with the patch, nic gum etc.

I am using 12mg. I smoked a pack a day before. I am still in the transition phase so when I want a cig, I smoke one. But I haven't in a couple of days now. I have some 18mg in a flavor I like on the way, just in case I need a stronger nic hit.

I don't feel "guilty"... but after coating my lungs with cig smoke for 20+ years, I would really rather not coat it with PG/VG and Flavoring. But, for right now I am good with it if it gets me off of cigs.

It is for sure better than tar etc for my lungs. But my goal is to not inhale anything other than oxygen lol

When I 1st started vaping, I was inhaling all the way into the lungs and holding it in for a couple seconds, and was definitely getting a nicotine fix w/ 18mg. But then I started reading about the differences compared to smoking, and started holding it in the mouth longer. Then I do a shallow inhale, w/ a slow exhale thru the mouth/nose. But I find I get the best nicotine hit when I french inhale for a bit after holding it in my mouth. It seems like a lot more vapor stays in the upper respiratory tract, where you get good absorption. I don't do that every puff tho, and I feel like some flavors taste different when inhaling a bit thru the nose. Now when I do my sampling at the shop, I do this too.

what in the world is a french inhale??
When you hold all the smoke/vapor in your mouth at first, and then start inhaling thru your nose as you slowly open your mouth, using your lower lip to direct a trail upwards that flows right in your nostrils. I always looked at it as a smoke trick, but w/ vaping and the good nasal absorption, I think it works out well.

Oh gotya, I never did that with cigs so I will have to practice it. i have been getting enough nic I think, just missing the lung inhale from cigs I think. I know that sounds counter to what I say about ending up not inhaling anything, but I have smoked for a long time lol. I have tried patches before and was getting plenty of nic, but missed the lung hits I think.

Have you tried a variety of juices? I feel like some flavors I've tried definitely have more pronounced throat hits, while others are more mellow. I get the best throat hit w/ a mountain dew flavor, it's like a tingly carbonated kick after inhaling. Also a good throat hit w/ something called tiger's blood. The other flavors I've enjoyed (including the cowboy tobacco flavor), but they were more mellow IMO. That's why I like to constantly rotate.
