I both lung inhaled and mouth to lung inhaled when I smoked analogs(26 years). With electronic cigarettes(ecigs) I always go straight to the lungs. Their are two ways I control the amount of vapor and air inhaled. The first is to limit the speed which I inhale. Limiting the speed also limits the total quantity of vapor and in some cases fresh air. The second way is to control the amount of additional air mixing with the vapor as I inhale. By loosening my lips I allow air to enter my mouth from around the tip of the ecig. With analog cigarettes the size of the cigarette was so that I could not use and did not need additional air to mix with the smoke. I don't think the second method is instinctive for prior analog smokers, "carbureting" has to be learned. On a device that might have a tighter draw I may allow more air to enter my lungs from around the tip and for devices that have a looser draw I may not bring in any additional air from around the tip. For myself the end result is I always inhale at the same speed for others the end result may be they inhale the same amount of vapor. It's a choice for both lung inhalers and mouth to lung inhalers.

Just a guess here, I think it makes sense though.

If you look at X-smokers like myself that smoked heavily, with no plans to stop vaping and using 18-24mg strength juice, I think you'll find most of them using the mouth-lung technique.

IMO many of the younger crowd using 0-6mg juice are vaping to blow big clouds, and many never even smoked cigarettes, all they know is you have to lung inhale to produce the monster clouds...besides, a giant lung inhale of 18-24mg juice won't end well for you.

I agree calvin. I only feel comfortable with smoking cigs, [removed] or vaping with mouth to lung. Let's face it when you hit the "b" you're not direct lung inhaling that would give you quite a headrush lol. I feel like it more in my throat if I direct inhale. I never truly inhaled cigarettes I found that I never smoked often and it was relatively easy to give it up

I notice that people have been giving advice to use mouth inhaling instead of lung inhaling. For me I was always a mouth inhaler and I didn't even know lung inhaling was an option. Even when I smoked cigs I would draw the smoke into my mouth first before inhaling. I always thought this was the norm, but apparently the majority of people do lung inhales when smoking cigs. So I was wondering what was your inhaling method when smoking cigs and has it changed since you started vaping?
