So after burning three Boge 2.0 cartos (non-tank) I finally learned about the condom method to get a good primed fill and it's working great. My ProVari will be in soon and I plan to use a tank system for that.

My question is, do I need to be as diligent on the first fill of a tank cartomizer or can I just do 20 drops in the top, fill up the tank, and go? I don't want to keep wasting cartomizers. Would I be better off condom/syringe filling the cartomizer along with the filled tank?

I usually put about 10-11 drops in the carto, then fill the tank (I only fill the tank about 1/3 of the way, a full tank usually floods, in my experience), then let it sit for ~10-15 minutes to soak in.. The only time i had a burnt carto, I didn't let it sit..I started using it right away. I was still able to drip some more in the carto, and after letting it sit, it was good again. I hate that burned carto taste, and too much burning ruins the carto for me, I can never get that burnt taste out.. I would definitely let it sit a while in order to allow the juice time to soak through.

A agree with Brandon. Something else to think about when going to a tank system is how you are going to feed the carto. Are you punching or slotting your own cartos, or are you buying them prepunched. Have a look here for some peoples experiences, including my own (which I did change my opinion just yesterday about my method of punching). Its noted in the thread. :)

I bought prepunched cartos from springvapors. I've had a good experience with a 510 DCT I bought from vaporjunction so I figured it couldn't hurt to try other prepunched. Honestly I spend so much time tinkering with these things already, I didn't want to add another requirement like punching or slotting my own.

80-90% PG, I can't handle VG at all and don't really like the feel of it. Looks like one hole from the pic here: Punched Boge SR 3.0 ohm - Spring Vapor

My current DCT has one hole as well.

Thanks. I used to not be a big fan of VG juices because the ones I made had virtually NO throat hit, but Ben over at AVE has it down to a science. 100% VG juices with great vapor, flavor and throat hit.

I'm kinda lazy and honestly haven't had much luck filling cartos (I use mostly VG and just ended up making a mess).

What I do is insert the carto into the tank and then push the tank all the way down so it is flush with the PV creating a seal. I then suck the juice through the hole in the carto several times. I then let it sit for about 10 minutes and its good to go. Easy enough and seems to work very well.
