Over the weekend, I dropped my HTC N1 65 feet onto concrete. And as my 540 dollar phone cartwheeled through the air, I mused about how I had already rooted and unlocked the bootloader voiding my warranty, and had just enough time to think about how it no longer mattered that I refused to get a case for it because no case made would have saved it from this drop.

Then it promptly bounced end to end about four times. The first bounce had it rebounding about 10 feet into the air at a crazy angle, sending it down a river bank, from big rock to big rock. So I slowly made my way down to my phone with the intention of performing last rites (SIM card removal and a short prayer). Imagine my chagrin when it was ringing as I approached it. One tiny nick taken out of the battery cover. Some mild superficial scratches. Those weird little mineral scratches on the body that rocks make against a harder substance. Those rubbed off. One tiny real scratch on the screen. When you really look at the phone, you realize they copied F1 car monocoque design technique. It's a solid hunk of metal with two slide-in polycarbonate inserts. One for battery and sim, and one for phone electronics and screen.

Sitting here Tuesday morning holding my V3, I'm reminded of HTC when I mull over this design. It's obvious this design is amazingly tough, while looking beautiful and refined. Just like an HTC phone.

The fact that you get HTC quality at a samsung price only makes this device a further no-brainer.

I like end-buttons. I like them a great deal. That being said, this end button is not ideal for me YET. I have a bunch of springs I'm going to try. But ignore me, I'm picky as um, poopy. For a new vaper, or someone new to end-buttons, this button could not be more perfect. You can't have an appreciation for how elaborate the design was to make a button that appears so simple unless you take it apart. The locking is unique, logical, and easy. When unlocked you have a huge cream-puff of a button that while easy to activate, won't be easy to accidentally activate. It's not quite as convenient as the non-locking protected buttons on SuperT devices, but it feels great. I'm sure I'll find a feel I like with a spring swap.

The fit with AW17670's was so tight I had to take the sticker off all three of the batteries I got from lighthound. Given how absolutely perfect this battery fits the device, I would not be surprised if it was created specifically for it.

I'd attempt to compare this mod to any other mod of its kind that I've used or tried, but quite frankly this mod is in a class of it's own currently. It's the first reasonably light, big battery mod of a reasonable size, and impeccable quality rendered in stainless steel. Until the Super T Precise 18650 gets here, there's nothing in the mechanical switch, all metal category that competes with this. Not fairly. All the Puresmoker features you take for granted are in play. Exceptional durability, great looks, durable finish (I'll never have to polish this thing) great price. You lose 5v, but you gain a fantastic button and a simpler design with better materials.

How does it vape? I can say that with the AW17650 and a LR 901, the vape is outstanding. Just like it would be if I used bare wires to connect the atomizer to the same battery. The action of vaping with the device is what matters. I see myself laying it down sideways more often rather than bother to lock and unlock the button unless I'm getting up to go somewhere. I've already spun and unspun the lock a few hundred times so I can lock and unlock one handed with my pinky. But there's a more important test. The final reason to like this mod is what I consider most important:

It's *just barely* twirlable. Sure, if you really wanted to you could twirl one of the 18650 mods between your fingers. It would just feel stupid. It just barely feels natural to twirl the V3 in your fingers. Observe:

I proudly introduce "twirlability" as a mod feature category.

Love You Guys,

Z
