I read somewhere it's not recommended to charge up by computer and yeah it will be slower. I use a wall plug

I've heard yes and no with the computer. I heard the computer trickles the charge which is better...I have no clue. But anywho...my coolfire 4 green light just went out...it's done charging, so yes the light goes out, did not turn it off on the bottom, took 2 1/2 hours to charge from yellow.

That depends on the computer in question.

Charging from a desktop computer shouldn't be any problem. Desktop PCs will always deliver a minimum of 500mAh through the USB port and are plugged into the wall so power supply isn't a concern.

It's when you charge from a laptop that things get a bit questionable. Some laptop USB ports do not provide enough power for charging, and you should NEVER charge anything using a laptop when it's running on it's own battery power rather than being plugged into a wall. Trying to charge one battery with another battery is never a good idea.

Awesome guys! Thanks for reporting back. See, us newbies can figure stuff out, we just need to work together and get a little help from the outside.

Kelly, I'm glad that there isn't a problem with yours!

And I always charge mine in a surge strip using the supplied cable.

I don't even recall what the original problem was. :D I'm thinking of ordering another CF4... one of those etched Phiniac kind. With sparkles, and my name. :D

I don't remember either, or who the OP even was! But I'm mulling over ordering another also..but I haven't decided the color yet..Those Phiniac ones are very sharp, but I didn't look at the prices. :)

It's not bad, roughly $10 more than than if you just bought a CF4 somewhere.. so you get that custom work for roughly $10! That's a hell of a deal, for a great mod.
