have a constant red light now and no smoke doesn't appear to be properly charging, any suggestions ?

How long have you had it. It could be the charger , cable or mod at fault. Do you have a spare cable you could try? If that doesn't work try charging it on a different usb socket. Good luck. Someone with more knowledge will hopefully be along soon.

Welcome and glad you joined. Might be many causes.
Could ask at:
Local vape shop -----Might be simple.
Vendor who sold it ---see if they will repair or replace or advise.
Manufacturer contact ---see if they will repair or replace or advise.
