I just received this today. The instructions say to fill the tank, you unscrew the top cap. I can't get mine unscrewed. I have tried pliers, but it's hard to get a grip on it due to the bevel and I don't want to break the glass. Any tricks to getting the top cap unscrewed??

Hey Jingles,

I actually had a similar problem with my own iSub-B. The first run had a number of tanks tightened too much from the factory, and fortunately has been rectified. However, many will encounter the situation you're in from the first batch. Here are my personal tips that worked for me to get that top cap to budge!

1. Let the tank sit in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This allows the o-rings to shrink slightly. Heat can do the same, but can damage your o-rings permanently if you aren't careful.

2. Use rubber latex gloves while turning the top of the tank to improve your grip.

3. Wrap the Innokin vape band or a rubber band around the top section of the tank for more grip, or for protection if you are using pliers or a similar tool.

4. Run the tank under hot water for a minute or two. It can have a similar affect to step 1 if the freezer drink didn't help much.

You will likely need to use a combination of these to get it to move, but I promise it'll get there. I spent a good hour and a half getting my first one open, and then the later revised batch unscrewed immediately without issue. I do apologize for the trouble! Out of curiosity, what color iSub-B is giving you trouble?

Update: I finally got it open tonight! I used the Innokin vape band around the top cap and that finally did the trick Earlier this morning while trying pliers once again I broke the drip tip. I have another drip tip that fits, so all is well. I filled it with some Root Beer juice and it's vaping great. ( I was real close to giving up on it and asking for a refund from my vendor. Childproof really means grandma proof)!

Hey Jingles,

That's great to hear! I do apologize again for the issue of getting it open. It was a pain for me as a young guy! The vape band around the top threaded section is what helped me get mine open as well. Sorry to hear about your drip tip :( We offer spares on our webstore if you are interested in getting a replacement.

Glad to hear it's working well for you now. What kind of root beer ejuice are you vaping? I find root beer to be a great flavor for vaping as the flavor profile is extremely similar to actual root beer.

Hi @Innokin_Joseph
The Innokin iSub-B with Plex3D with 'Next Generation 3D Mesh' Coils looks like everything I'm looking for.

My question here is on the coils. Have they been tested with Nic Salts. Can I use a low nic level Nic Salts with the 3D Mesh without diminishing the quality?
Thank you in advance for any insight you can offer

Hey @jdy! Thanks for taking a look at the iSub-B!

Starting with the Plexus coil structure, we found that utilizing mesh with lower wattage settings allowed for a great experience with nic salts. The combination of even heat distribution of the mesh with the lower output required provides great flavor with smooth hits. This is exactly why the Plexus coil found its way to our Zenith (MTL) tank, and the EQ Pod kit. It's only improved upon with the Plex3D coils, as the overall power consumption of the coils stays low but offers you the option of turning the heat up a bit. 30-50w is the standard operating range of the Plex3D iSub coil and it does indeed do a great job with nic salts. Be aware that the vapor output is quite high despite the lower wattage range and if you want to up the intensity of your flavor, low airflow settings should do the trick.

Thanks again and hope this helps!

HI @Innokin_Joseph
My order just came in today, I got vape mail YEA.

First off, the top opened easily no problems. Then I love the look the lightly colored reflections in the glass that is very nice upgrade. Topper is the flavor with the Plex3D Mesh it is double the flavor compared to the tank it is replacing. I will not name names, but hands down at least double the flavor. Now as long as this coil continues with such great performance for a fair amount of time I will be ecstatic!
Right now it is a perfect vape. Thank you

Great to hear @jdy! The rainbow tinted glass is certainly a head turner. Awesome to hear the flavor has impressed you! How has your coil life been so far? Thanks again for picking up the iSub-B!

HI @Innokin_Joseph , I'm still impressed but.....Sorry to report I've just had to change the coil that's only two weeks and I do not chain vape. But I do use a high VG mix normally I run 80 VG/20 PG, the 20 includes flavor and a dash of DW.
I'll chock it up to that since with the new coil in there today is back to a great vape, but yesterday with the two week old coil not so much.
Thank you for asking!

Hm, two weeks doesn't seem too bad, especially with a high VG percentage. General average seems to be about one week with heavy use, and two with moderate use. Let me know how the new coil works out! You might be able to squeeze a little more life out of coils with thinner juice or sweetener free juice.
