Hey guys, I rolled into a headshop today and picked up a new Kangertech subtank nano. I'd done some looking around and the subtanks caught my attention, problem is, my vape misfires 100% of the time with the nano screwed into the threads tightly, and when I've got it at the perfect spot, it's one or two drags and misfire. I tossed the 1.2 ohm coil in, hoping it was just my devices incapability of going sub that was holding me back, and it isn't even giving an ohm... I want to replace my iClear 30s for something better overall, mainly because I got into some cheap e-juice and cracked/stained it to all hell. Did I get a bad 1.2 ohm coil / Did I make a bad purchase overall?

Is it time for a new vape?

Sounds like the 510 connector on your tank may not be making a good connection to your mod. You could try pulling the center pin on your tank down just slighty or you could try using a 510 to 510 adapter.

Did you try the tank using the adapter that came with your VTR? The one for tanks that don't fit in the ring? Really does sound like a connection issue to me.

Hope that helped and good luck!

It's the VTR, though rated for I believe 0.8ohms lowest, there have been a lot of issues with devices connecting to the 510 connector on the VTR. As stated by @salemgold , maybe a 510 to 510 or 510 to Ego adapter might work if you don't have the extension adapter that came with the VTR to seat the tank outside the recessed section of the VTR. Another problem, is the VTR only pushes 15watts and about 5 to 6 amps through its switch which the subtank needs at least 20 watts or 10amps. You'll have better luck with an iStick30 watt or iStick40watt TC which will out perform that VTR. I have 2 Innokin SVD Ver1, a first generation and second generation which use the older control chip the VTR uses and both most times sit collecting dust as I've upgraded to an SVD 2.0 and several other devices that put their 2year old technology to shame.

Not really many tanks out there that are easily found that will replace the iClear30 and even Innokin is up in the recent Sub-Ohm clouding tank game and let the tootle puffing clearomizer game on the back burner. Possibly look at an Aspire Nautilus mini with a longer drip tip should sit down in the VTR's recess, beyond upgrading to a newer mod, not much I can suggest that is pretty common and easy to get replaceable parts for them.
