I have seen these but never had one.... I've heard about all of them. The vamo breaks if you drop it. Svd is just like the vamo so I'm guessing that there isn't that much of a difference. .. maybe comparing it to something else would be a better idea... like yes mvp2. I've heard everyone loves them and they take a beating but it's a box mod and some people hate that. The best thing to get is anything better then your friends mod :)

I have the $20 SS Vamo from the Focalecig group buy last month, and the MVP v2 for the Wife just got here last night.

I would have to say that if you can deal with it being a box (which fits nicely in the hand) I would say the MVP v2 is the best value out there right now. I got hers for $27 shipped and it came with 2 iClear 16 and the iClear 30. Buy 2 if you are worried about the non-replaceable battery.

Advantages of the MVP v2:

No batteries or chargers to buy
Build quality is solid
Pass through capabilities
Uses standard micro USB charger

I like my Vamo and all, but after buying 18350 and 18650 batteries and a Nitecore i4 charger I have spent about $60, and I think the MVP v2 hits better using the same wattage setting and tank.

Right, I was a little nervous screwing on my new Tobh v2 last night. The design allows the center to move (opening or closing the air holes), I thought for a second that I stripped the threads on the Vamo. [emoji30]
I had a clearo fail on me this week-- stripped threads! So maybe the rumor is right?

I would say that the innokin mvp 2.0 is a better choice than both of those in terms of versatility and signal output. I own both the vamo and the svd and, between the two I would say the svd is better due to build quality. The threads on my vamo were distressed after about a month of daily use whereas my svd has been put through the paces for about a year and still works like new. Also innokin is about to release the svd 2.0.

The problem with the MVP is it only has a max wattage output of 11 watts where as the SVD and Vamo go to 15 watts.

I have both the SVD and Vamo V5. They both have the same basic functionality. From an appearance, button placement and feel standpoint, I prefer the Vamo. The Vamo weak point as already mentioned is the soft 510 threading. I still use it more than the SVD but really try to baby the threads.

The 510/eGo threading on Sigelei Zmax V2, V3 and V5 is machined from a single piece of stainless steel on all product made during the last year or so. The top cap is threaded and removeable from the 510/eGo assembly. I have never heard of anyone stripping one of these. Also, the Sigelei Zmax V3 and V5 is shorter than Vamo or SVD and uses 18350, 18490/18500 and 18650 right out of the box.

We bought one of my wife's friends one of these a few months ago. It's all she uses and she absolutely loves it. Not one single complaint and it's been dropped, kicked, and even fell into mashed potatoes once. Still works like a champ.

Will definitely be buying one to replace my wife's current Innokin product which is showing signs of it's imminent demise. (The 3rd Innokin product we've bought that's failed within the year)

Cool. There are lots of happy Sigelei Zmax users. That photo I posted shows one of the first Sigelei V3s to feature the one-piece 510/eGo threading. It was purchased last November. The finish on that machining is a little rough. I bought a Sigelei V5 this spring and the machining is much nicer on the 510/eGo. No burrs or nicks.

I'm glad to hear this! I have an SVD that started to act up (have only had it for 4 months) and decided to order one of these. Should be here this week. :vapor:

True enough. It's not so big a problem when using stock coil devices but it is a limitation when running a rebuildable that you want to fire.

Also I would note that the svd eats through the batteries faster than the vamo fwiw.

Last post in that thread was in 2013, so I don't know if it still holds for the V5 release.

Short of (semi)destructive testing, I don't know of any reliable way to test it though...

The one way I know of would be to get a dremel tool with a grinding wheel and bump the top of the connector. If you see sparks it's stainless steel.

Every photo of the Vamo V5 (with removable top cap) that I have seen shows mirror polished, glossy white metal 510/eGo threading. This is a dead giveaway for nickle or chrome plated brass. If it is plated brass it would not be hard to scratch this piece with a steel knife or a file to expose yellow metal underneath. It's expensive to polish stainless steel between threads or on small parts with complex shapes to a mirror finish. You usually find mirror finish SS on flat pieces.

Oh yes, the smaller Sigelei Zmax is also 3-15W.

Photos here from FastTech are good examples.
