Still being a newbie to Reos (and dripping)...I think I have FINALLY found the cause for my short carto/atty lifespans. OVER SQUONKING!!

I was squonking to the point where I always getting a slight gurgle in my atty or carto. But after a few hours of chain vaping I was getting burned juice in both, and burned flavor. My atties I was cleaning out daily (with vodka) and my cartos would last maybe a day.

I kinda discovered this by thinking about my Buzzpro and how my cartos last me about 1 week. I looked in my latest carto on my buzz and noticed the carto is barely moist.... hummm.

I noticed if I squonked my cartos to the point where the filler was moist, but not saturated, then vaped until the flavor was almost gone and I was 1 hit away from a dry hit, my carto has lasted me almost 1 week! So ...anyone else experience this? Does my observation make sense? :vapor:

Makes perfect sense! I don't prefill cartos. Just a little squonk. I can see mine are mostly dry. Only the center tube needs juice. That is where the coil is positioned. My cartos last about 2 weeks at least.

When I notice they draw harder I look at them. The filler is then full of juice. Time to chuck them! Over time with even the little squonks the filler will soak up the juice. I think because mine sit, using multiple REO's, they fill up faster.

Thanks Nerak... man your picture skeeves me out. Dont know why...but just very...well..... skeevy.. lol

So no one else has come to this conclusion....or am I just a over-zealous squonker? I would be curious if folks with attys have observed keeping them too wet results in burning juice and bad flavor.

Actually, yes...some have noticed that in the past. I'm not sure of the connection other than heated juice remains in the cup and then gets heated again and again until it bears the taste. However, I don't have that issue...and I keep my atties wet....just under flooded. So it remains a mystery to me. :?:
