Intermitten Database Errors

Hello all,

Seems like I keep getting intermittent database errors or server offline errors lately. Just wanted to bring it up so the admins could look into it. Anyone else experiencing this?

Aha! Yep it's been happening a lot for the past hour. Hopefully they get it fixed soon!

Don't know if it helps but one time for me signatures were gone and the like feature was a totally different format.

Yeah I liked that new "Like" format, but it was gone like 5 mins after I got here today. Then all this "offline" crap.

Well, I'm able to post, though others are apparently having problems... and haven't seen any db errors or site down for a couple hours; but, I noticed that the system's clock seems quite wonky; PMs just sent/received have 7-8am instead of the current EST 4-5pm.

At least this time I'm a long way past that 5-days-smoke-free that I was back in March when the site was down for 2 days. It's frustrating, but I believe I'll survive -- and remain smoke-free without coming unglued.

I won't say what DC2 said about posting in the sandbox because then I might not be able to post either but I'll just say that he wanted the forum to know that he could PM and 'like' but not post anywhere or start any threads.... I told him the site is having problems, but he's seeing others posting and wonders why he cannot.

The server guys are working on things in the background which may render the site extremely slow or lock the database up resulting in errors. Be patient and we'll soon have things back to normal.

I'm having an issue with posting... everytime I try to post, it says I'm blocked. Since I haven't done anything to warrant being blocked, I can only surmise it's just another site error. Not even sure this will post, but thought I'd try this first, before contacting via email.

Well, this worked, strangely enough. No idea why this worked, and other posts didn't.

When you run into issues posting, and you're sure you've been a good little poster and haven't incurred the wrath of the ban gods, log out, clear your browser's cookies and cache, then log in again. Usually fixes those type of issues right up.
