I know typing your credit card number into a web page can seem intimidating, but really you're not at any more risk on the internet than you are anywhere else. Hand your credit card to your server at a restaurant, and he/she can swipe it through a reader to clone the card on their way to the cash register. Use your debit card at an ATM and have it cloned (with your PIN number, recorded through a camera, or circuitry built into the ATM) and someone has carte blanche access to your bank account. I know that last one, because it happened to me. Just do the same thing with the internet that you'd do locally - be aware of where you're using it, and make sure you only hand over that information to reputable people/places. Personally, I prefer to use US businesses. Easier to file a complaint in the unlikely event that something happens, and easier for your bank to pursue after they refund your money.
