I only get around 280 down and 18 up..... But it is the limit of the cable modem I am using. I could buy another modem but have not found a need for more.
That's much better than my old verizon dsl. We now have cable with 20mb and run 12 devices pretty easily.
Fyi, most companies have low end inexpensive internet hook-ups for underprivileged or Social Security users
Iirc, Comcast has 15mb for $9.95. No equipment fees or taxes.
