Everything should work on the VT, it's just a regular 510 connection. I wouldn't screw on the tanks too tight if they have a very long 510 connection though. I think I messed up the 510 pin on my VT that way. It's not a huge problem but I had some problems connecting it to an rta with a shorter 510 connection afterwards. It was an easy fix though, not a huge deal.

Mine lasts me 3 to 4 days on a charge but I vape in Temp Ti mode with the max wattage set to 32,5W, and I guess I don't chain vape (often).

The only thing it won't do is SS coils in TC mode, at least not without being a hassle from what I gather.

But I love mine. It's real easy to use one handed with the rocker switch and straight forward menu, feels solid and well made, looks amazing (imo), and is still pretty small considering the battery capacity. It does have some heft to it though.

Thanks for the detailed info! So if I use SS coils it would need to be in the normal mode and not temp control?

Yeah, in VW or power mode they'll work just fine

Idk if this mod has been mentioned but, if you like the Cuboid, Take a look at the Eleaf iStick 100W TC. It has the same Board/Chipset made by Joyetech that's in the Cuboid, Pico, RX200, etc. Here is a link Eleaf iStick 100W TC - Pico, 100W, 200W - Eleaf iStick - Mods

It supports Ni/Ti/SS and Custom TCR adjustments just like the Cuboid! From what I hear it is lighter and more Comfortable, the Firing button is nicely built in under one of the battery doors, so its not a small Clicky button that you have to press perfectly like some others! And there is a Firing lock switch at the top of the mod for when you slide it into your pocket to keep it from firing, although I know a few people who never had it fire in their pocket with it unlocked!

The iStick 100W TC can actually run off 1 18650 or Dual 18650, I would stay with Dual for better battery life.
Take a look and let us know what you think! :thumb:

I agree with MikeyConti- I use the Eleaf iStick 100W TC and it is a champ for the price. single or dual 18650 (If using single battery max is 75W) uses TC or VV.............. and is upgrade-able to 120W right on the Eleaf site. The switch is under the battery door and you squeeze the unit to make it fire. It also features a lock function so that it will not fire in the pocket. You can typically get them from $30-40

It is funny that you mention the Evic. I emailed a friend who lives across the country who I thought might know about this. Turns out he knows a lot about it. That is the one he recommended. He said that buying/carrying the external batteries and the charger can be a pain in the .... and that the Evic should last a whole day for me. If not, I switch to the old CFs I have while it charges. That might be the way I go.

Atlantis and Triton tanks would fit and work well on the Evic? I would think so but just thought I'd ask.

note, there is an evic vt with an internal battery, and an evic vtc mini which used one replaceable battery.

I bought an evic vtc mini a few months ago (mainly because it was on a shelf staring at me next to an egrip) and a month or two later I bought a second one for backup just because I was so happy with it; the second one is still unopened staring at me right now standing by for backup.
Oh; and it has a usb charging port so you could charge it like a cellphone although using an external charger is preferred; most mod come like that nowadays.

Hi,

My name is Rob and I've been reading through the board here for a bit and there is some great information! I've taken the standard road through vaping the past two years from gas station e-cigs to more powerful mods and tanks.

I do not know a lot about all the technology involved in vaping and to be honest I don't really want to learn all about it. What I want is a good consistent vape all day.

I have been using a Aspire CF Sub Ohm with the Aspire Atlantis tank and recently bought a Triton 2 tank. I've found that using .5 ohm coils seem to give me the right amount of vapor for me. The 1.0 or higher coils don't give me enough and the .3 is sometimes too much with this particular mod. I have gone through 4 Aspire CF Sub Ohms because the batteries stop holding their charge well. Now the first hour or so of vaping with it I get very nice hits that I fully enjoy and want that more consistently because after that hour the hits are poor and I'm tired of buying more CF Sub Ohms.

What I'm hoping someone here can help me with is buying a new mod where I can change batteries when they stop holding their charge instead of buying a new mod. Here is what I am looking for.

- Enough battery life to last me a whole day but on the small side. I vape a lot. 1 battery? 2 battery?
- A mod that I can still use my current tanks with.
- I don't need huge clouds but I like a thicker hit. As I said above the .5 coils give me what I like and the .3 is almost too much, if that helps.
- I want to be able to take my current tanks and coils, screw them into a good mod with replaceable batteries and have a nice consistent vape all day.

I'm coming here because the guy at my vape shop makes it so complicated and seems to want to sell me $90-100 mods that are huge and heavy and he said I would need to buy a new tank for. Not sure I trust what he is saying and I don't understand half of it.

One mod that I liked the feel of at the vape shop was the Joyetech Cuboid 150W but no clue if that would work well for me. It holds two batteries, was smallish and light. I'm not really sure whether I would need to change tanks if I bought it but I don't see why I would have to do that.

Anyway, any thoughts would be very helpful and thank you for reading this long ... post!

THANKS!

Rob

What is your budget? The response will be completely subjective as most people will recommend gear that they have and enjoyed using.

Me personally if I were to recommend a mod and a tank to a novice vaper who didn't want to mess with TC, TCR, DIY coils, DIY ejuice, it will have to come down to the UWELL Crown tank and the sigelei 213 (dual 18650 battery mod).

Reasons:

The uwell crown tank for me has been a no hassle, great flavor, great vapor tank. It comes in 3 coil options. 0.5ohms, 0.25ohms, and 1.2 (or 1.4 can't remember). All produced great flavor and the 0.5ohms seems right down your alley in terms of vapor production.

The sigelei 213 mod is probably the current best form factor 2 battery mod out there for under $100 (members have said they got it for $80 shipped). I know people had issues with sigelei products, the 213 is my first, after 3-4 days of usage I had no big issues with it. Love the form factor, battery life, and weight.

I would not recommend the cuboid 150. I have one. Its very very heavy for a dual battery mod and pocket use IMHO. Also the 510 has been giving me some issues as well, some attys are not recognized.

If you want an extremely portable mod then look into the eleaf Pico.

As for batteries I would recommend some brown LG HG2s or Pink Samsungs 30Q

If someone wasn't interested in a TC mod at all, I would still recommend the Sigelei 150W! :thumb:
$52 Sigelei 150W Box MOD

But if they have never tried it before, eventually they would so something like whats already been suggested along with the Sigelei 213 and other similar mods would fit.

My first TC mod was the SnowWolf 200W, very limited though being a pretty early TC device, still works Great for Kanthal/Power and from what I remember it ran Nickel great as-well, I havent used that mod for TC since having much better ones, so I need to try it out again for Nickel. My favorite Wire is SS now though, just so versatile! :thumb:

Funny cuz my first ever mod was the snow wolf mini. I've only tried prebuilt ni200 crown coils on that mod and it worked alright at the time, haven't used it in a while.

After going the building route I've only experimented with SS and find it to also suite my needs perfectly (read that ni200 can be a pain to manipulate, also you can't dry burn).

Yeah, Nickel takes a while to learn how to build the coil right, then change how you would usually wick it. Sometimes you are forced to use high gauges such as 32G and at that point you might as-well be sewing lol I haven't messed with it in a long time, Titanium is what kept TC moving for the most part, was much easier and to a lot gave a better vape, and now we are at SS. With Boards like YiHi's SX350j and Evolv's DNA 200, TC has Accomplished A LOT in just a little over 1 year! I can't imagine what they will be making in 2 more years lol :w00t::D

I can't tell you all how much I appreciate all the responses. I decided to go with the eVic VT in Cool Black color. After careful consideration, the responses here, some other threads here, discussion with a knowledgeable vaping buddy and how I will use the mod I thought that mod was the right one for what I was looking for. I have been using it for three days and love it so far. So much more powerful than my Aspire CF and I got it for a really good price after a using a coupon! I have a few questions but I think I will start another thread with those questions because it's a different topic. It came with the eGo One Mega tank and it doesn't seem to work very well. Air-flow stinks and it seems flooded and gurgles a lot. Thankfully I have the Atlantis and Triton 2 which both work great in this. I have to figure out the wattage I should use for the different ohm coils I have because I'm getting some odd pulls from it sometimes.

Thanks again for the information. I've been searching around he site and it's amazing the wealth of information on this site and the people seem great and willing to answer even the dumb questions but us newer vapers.

Would it be harsh to LOL? I hope you and your not-Joyetech tanks are very happy.

When I bought my Evic mini VTC, I had to explain why I didn't want the entire kit... they just didn't get it.

I think your post sums up my feelings on just about all Joyetech tanks before 2016.

Haha! Yeah, the full kit was the only way to buy it with the coupon code. Got the full kit for just over $30 delivered. I didn't do any research on the tank and figured it would be alright. I did some searches on here after I started using it hoping to find a resolution but instead just found lots of bad reviews. Oh well. I'm loving the setup with the other tanks.

Nice job. For just over $30, I'd have taken 2 tanks.... what a bargain!

First of all are Batteries! Buy the best batteries you can get. If you can't afford them with your mod, wait until you can! Again.. top quality batteries first.. mod 2nd. Talk to your vape store guy, especially if he is sub ohming on a mechanical mod.. He will know batteries inside and out, front and back, and back to front and upside down with his eyes closed. What I am trying to say here is.. GET TOP QUALITY BATTERIES!

"I do not know a lot about all the technology involved in vaping and to be honest I don't really want to learn all about it."

That being the case, completely avoid mechanical mods. Stick to regulated. Regulate shut off before they blow up, mech mods dont.

Now as for your mod.. ask the guy in the shop. Some Regulated will do 0.03 and some will do 0.01 Mine will do 0.15 ohm (istick 100w) which I find quite nice. Pick up a torx4 screwdriver just in case.. My 510 pin came out. I fixed it with that screwdriver and needle nose pliers. (3 rings.. the inner part you see, a black ring that the inner part goes in, and a brass part that slips over the black and locks the 510 in place. Just be careful when you tighten or remove your drip sleeve. That's the only problem I had, aside from dropping it in the bath tub... (tip.. do not try to see if it still works.. drain the water, shake it out, wipe it off, take out the batteries, shake some more wipe more, let set for 12 -24 hours. And mine was good to go!)

So as for:

"- Enough battery life to last me a whole day but on the small side. I vape a lot. 1 battery? 2 battery?
I went over that right at the start. Use thinner wires, you don't need aircraft cables to hit low ohms, fast ramp up.

- A mod that I can still use my current tanks with.
The majority are standard 510 thread. If your tanks aren't you may as well replace them. Which you will want to do with at least 1 anyway. Tank i recommend Kanger TopTank Mini or Kanger top tank reg. (rebuild-able coil) avoid the top tank nana... no rebuildable coil will fit... anyone that says is does is trolling. (the chimney in the tank is to long)

- I don't need huge clouds but I like a thicker hit. As I said above the .5 coils give me what I like and the .3 is almost too much, if that helps.

It really isn't your ohms that give you the thicker hit, its more the shape of the coil. For example.. Claptons will give you awesome flavor! Due to the massive amount of juice they hold, but.. and am still researching this.. for thick vape you want more surface area. Single strand with extra wraps = pretty good. Dual strand twisted = better, dual strand wrapped paralell (side by side, try not to twist the wires) is better, but also a pain in the .... to work with. Picture... a 50 foot hose and your bucket is 25 ft away. The 50ft will do the job.. but.. if you cut the hose into 2x 25' you move twice as much water over half the distance. Now the hose is your coil, water is the juice.. faster juice to coil = thicker fog.

That said.. I have some 30ga flat kanthal on the way.. gonna wrap it on a 1mm core with a massive fluffy wick right into the juice well..
Ill prob post on that when it comes.

With 2 good 20amp batteries, you can vape all day maybe 2 or 3 depending on your coils. Example.. a 0.40 ohm coil set (dual coils ".80 ohm ea") can give the same vape as a 0.2 ohm, but about half the watts.

I can still fog up the living room with a 16watt batter at 7 volts, due to the coils. (usually 1.25 ohm - 1.0ohm)

- I want to be able to take my current tanks and coils, screw them into a good mod with replaceable batteries and have a nice consistent vape all day.

I suggest making sure they have the 510 connector, if not, replace them, you can get adapters and Frankenstein them , but... if you are spending the $$$ on a new mod, may as well get a nice new tank..

Now, if it were me spending my money (and it was earlier this week) I purchased a Twisted Messes DRIP tip. 2 neg posts, extra wide pos post with 2 hole. (no more poking your second coil out or accidentally cutting the legs off... which I have done.. lol) Now here.. longer pull = thicker vape.. close down the air holes until you are happy.. Faster pull = bigger clouds.. air holes full open. Flavor tips will have a smaller hole, cloud tips will have larger holes..

Properly wicked, you can puff on that dripper for 10 or 20 hits before redripping with lower watts and a decent coil build. I can promise you this though.. spend a day on a dripper, and you wont even look at your tank atty.

I'm new too, so all this is pretty fresh, learning as I go.

This will help (not sure if anyone posted it) The old mech mods had only on/off and all you could adjust was the ohms of the coil.. today we have a lot more options available with the regulated mods.

Sorry about the bold text.. couldnt make it stay off once i had it on. lol

Coil wrapping
