Discount vapers have a few that are ss. If you get one that is not ss please keep an eye on the plating, make sure it isn't cracked peeled.

A lot of these are chrome plated brass or copper, and while I can not say they are unsafe to vape with bare metal exposed no one knows. What we do know is most brass has lead added to it. So it is better to be careful.

yes this is true...i can confirm first hand that the AGAs are solid stainless though after drilling the airhole on mine out....plus they are all in stock

to be completely honest...i hate the vivi nova with the passionate fire stronger than five stars going supernova....but i learned how to make a coil using one.

if you'd like another option, the "smoke vivi tank" is easily converted to a genesis style atomizer with a few drilled holes....the pheonix gives more play options with it, but not everyone likes to drip...which is why it is a secondary suggestion, and of course there is the COV-1, a full blown genesis atty did clone (aka the DUD) for all of 12 bucks at clouds of vapor....or, if you want to get super exciting, you can always grab the AGA-T at clouds of vapor for 30 bucks, it's a little more expensive, but even better than the DUD as it's solid stainless instead of stainless plated brass.

I've been looking at the DUD's, AGA's and other clones as well. I've got my Vivi's in the classified looking for a trade. I'll see what pops up there. I figure if I've got to modify and fiddle with it that much to make it work I may as well get something set up to do that to start with in the first place!

for variable air flow....nothing matches the GGs, but those ARE pricey....i have seen an Odysseus clone floating around but after it gets to the states the price would still be like 90 dollars.....quite frankly with being able to get a Penelope for 150 you might as well get the real thing in the classifieds

They are already in the states for $60, well at least presale is Terminator Genesis R/A Tank- Large- PRE SALE ONLY

I don't know anything about the AGA-S, I do know the first batch of the AGA-T where ss except the center post in the tank, there are upgrade kits for it tho. The latest AGA-T's should be all SS (except for the tanks) and the AGA-W's are all ss

It's kind of boggling how the penelope/ody and the vivis have similar wicking/coil design but the taste and throat hit are lightyears apart. Voluminous vapor production is similar though.

i always tipped my hat to this and thought of only one reason: the vacuum feed to the wick....it's just a genius design in itself and i commend the designers of them, as far as wick/coil design, the coil design is almost exactly the same, for reference sake since i've discovered 28 gauge kanthal i've not even been using non-resisting wire in my coils for the Penelope, and the minor modification of wrapping the stock silica wick with some oxidized mesh has just been incredible with the use of about 6 or 7 wraps of kanthal 28....blows the vivi nova away in my current setup.

I will have to remember that, as I am wanting a Penelope or an Oddy, and I use 28 gauge on my hybird now

Another thing that should be pointed out to those who want to venture into RBAs, stainless steel mesh is not for everybody. I for one hate the metallic taste. Cotton was ok but it degrades so fast. I am now happy with silica when it comes to flavor, throat hit and vapor production. I currently use silica even in my genesis type atomizers. :p

IMO so long as people are able to make a informed choice, what they use is up to them. Yes I happen to like ss, but I agree fully it isn't for everyone.

after i've tried the 28 kanthal, i never want to use anything else again....it's just nicer wire...and i know that people are doing rediculous wattage rating's with their hybrids using the 28 now...i've been liking the fact that it's all but eliminated my hotspots on the AGA and the ZAP, plus being thicker it lasts longer...only issue is getting a resistance that the provari can read due to the nature of the wire.....

hopefully i'll have some type of hybrid mechanical soon....got a zen cobalt on the xmas list, but i think the g/f got me a tablet instead....i can live with that though, if i have to i'll buy my own one day, just hard to find them in stock, plus the hybrids go stupid fast in the classifieds too....

i also agree that mesh isn't for everyone, but more because of the learning curve and having to figure out how to make the wicks...not to mention hotspots and the fact that gennies are going to leak everywhere if you lay them down too long....

i find that once the wick and coil get nice and broken in (or "seasoned") with a little bit of buildup from vaping on it, the flavor comes off of the coil super clean, plus i always got that metallic taste you talk about mainly when i was using nichrome wire, never once again after i got kanthal...

I go lower than some on my ohms, but not as low as others. I am not into the sub 1 ohm vaping. I do however like a 1.2 ohm coil, I find that gives me a good vape even as my battery goes down from use.

If you are wanting a no leak genny option check out the s-dog, I don't have one but a couple of my friends do. One of them filled it the left it on its side all night and not a drop anywhere

i've never heard of that one, but the leaks really don't bother me, my gennies don't leave the house, i have the penelope and a few cartotanks for work as my no-leak options, and the genesis attys are my relaxing-at-home-too-lazy-to-drip-right-now vapes
