Hey all....

my name is drew. I started smoking when I was 14. I am in my thirties now:facepalm:. Anyway, i went to a brick and mortar and got a kanger evod setup i love it. i vape 36mg eliquid. my brand was camel non filters. i still smoke some; i am working on quitting. i love the actual taste of tobacco. no one will ever sway that taste. i smoked in the military and smoked heavier upon returning home from the sandbox as i have ptsd. I was a cook but meals were contracted to KBR i babysitted during the day. did convoys/escorts at night got shot at a few times enough to make me nuts. so, i smoked and became addicted to painkillers. anyway, i quit those cold turkey couldn't kick nails that way though. anyway, thats me i lay it all out there im brash, vulgar and love my women:laugh::vapor:.
:2cool: p.s. i am member at hadit a veterans site. if anyone here spent any time in the military give me a shout esp if you were in the IZ aka green zone at Baghdad international airport.

Welcome!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on kicking the painkillers- that is tough!!!!! In my opinion those are hardest thing to quit.
Awesome job!!

Now you can work on the cigarettes.
You will find a TON of info here on ECF and if you have any questions just ask.
There are lots of super friendly people here willing to help you.

Also- some vendors offer a discount to military. I'm sure others on here would know more about it.

Good luck!!!!!

Hi and welcome to ECF! First most - Thank you for your service :)

You got a great starter kit - just take it a day at a time or even 1 ciggy not smoked at a time. Remember every cigarette you dont smoke is an accomplishment. Before you know it you will be down to zero :) Sometimes remembering the math helps to - for example, if you smoked 10 less cigarettes every day for a week - regardless of how many you did have - thats still 70 you didnt -almost 4 whole packs! :D

Good luck on your journey and kicking the old habit.

Thanks lomaric! thank you as well! and everyone here for the warm reception i have received. thats the way im looking at it one less cigarette the better. ecigs taste better... i just hope the FDA doesn't ban a viable aid in the war. because in my eyes this is what this is a war between big tobacco and people. the FDA is just somewhere in between.

Welcome Drew. I am pretty new here too. As others have said you have my deepest admiration for stopping the pain meds. You are also doing a great job with the cigarettes, one day at a time, one less cig at a time, you will eventually reach a point you feel comfortable with. There is no rush and no "right way" to do it.

Thank you so very much for your service to our country, for that and the other accomplishments you described in your life you should be so very proud!
