I got the idea from the official Kanger instructions that actually tell us not to screw the MPT3 all the way down on our battery or it will depress the center pin too far into the connection. Well, that center pin is designed to give a little depending on the length of the center post on the different atties. So it made sense that I could readjust as well. Saw a vid or two after that and then tried it...works like a charm. But I definitely understand your hesitation with a more expensive device.
