Hi everyone, new vaper here. I decided to quit the analogs because i'm tired of the smell and my girl hates kissing me after a smoke.

I bought the Volt Pro-Starter kit from SI with the Smooth Sampler and a pack of Ice Menthols because I came from Parliament Light Menthols and more recently Marlboro Menthol Lights.

My Setup:
- Black 65mm Sealed Automatic w/ Blue LED & Crystal End Cap
- Black 78mm Manual w/ Purple (it's really a blacklight!) LED & Crystal End Cap
- 12mg Nicotine

Thoughts on the SI Volt:
First off, I wanna say that so far the SI Volt is a pretty great e-cig, at least for me it is. The PCC is a bit confusing as it won't always charge the batteries fully and will not show they are dead (shows 2 bars) even though they are actually dead. Which had me confused when my batteries would just flash but when checking battery life on the PCC, it said 2 bars. So I would have to top them off via the USB charger. Not really a huge issue, just can be bad when you're out and about and thought your battery was fully charged.

I accidentally ordered the kit with the slider PCC and am in the process of exchanging for the Mega V2 PCC. However, with the experience of the slider PCC, aside from what I mentioned earlier; if you have diamond end caps, the e-cig will not fit regardless of 65mm vs 78mm.

Smokeless Image Cartomizers and My Experience:
As I mentioned earlier, I chose the Smooth Sampler and added a pack of Ice Menthols to my order. I liked the Freedom, RY4 and Cowboy flavors and would more than likely end up purchasing these in the future. I however did not like the 555 and Desert Joe but will probably vape them anyways...

The Ice Menthol, this is my favorite. I love how it's got that chewing gum flavor to it. It's just a perfect taste all around.

My experience with the cartomizers is that on the first night and throughout the following day, I was able to stick with one whole Ice Menthol before I started to use the other 3 flavors that I liked from the sampler. It was odd in the sense that the one Ice Menthol seemed to outlast the 3 flavors I mentioned plus the majority of another Ice Menthol which I went through in just a day.

To get a feel for my vaping intake, I didn't kill the battery on the single Ice Menthol I started out on. However, the following day I charged both the 65 and 78mm batteries and killed both batteries. In one day. I did however read on Smokeless Image that their cartos are pre-filled with just ~1ml of juice and from what i've read, cartos can hold about 2.75ml +/- .25ml of juice, so maybe it was just a variance. I'm guessing the samplers had less juice than the Ice Menthols as I haven't quite killed the second Ice Menthol but apparently I destined the first 4 cartos to the trash can after reading that a burning taste means the carto has been turned into a useless piece sadly.

My overall experience is that I don't really seem to get a buzz or anything off these 12mg, but I know that I won't be going 18mg since I tried that a couple years back on my friend's Joye Ego and wasn't pleased with the TH at all. My mouth has been a bit dry and my throat a bit sore, but that could be mostly from the transition.

My Questions:
After a lot of reading, it seems that Smokeless Image cartos are PG based. I did however read that VG based juices will have a thicker vapor with possibly less flavor and less of a TH versus a PS based juice. Moreover, apparently there are 50/50 VG-PG blends that offer the best of both worlds? That leads me to these questions:

1) What online vendors are popular with VG based or 50/50 blends?
2) For those who have tried the Ice Menthol, RY4, Freedom and Cowboy over at Smokeless Image; where can I get these flavors in VG or 50/50? Is there anything comparable or exactly the same as the SI Ice Menthol in VG or 50/50 or am I stuck with Smokeless Image?
3) Since i'm looking to drip my own cartos, I don't want to waste blanks finding favorites and risking flavors I do not like, are there attachments available for the KR808 that I can just drip juice into, if I re-call it's an atomizer?

Overall, i'm just looking for a thicker vapor if possible but still retain the flavor? Moreover, price is a major selling point for me as with analogs, I would go through a pack every 5-7 days at ~$6/pack. At the rate i'm vaping now, it seems like my price is currently around $6 every other day, but if Smokeless Image really only put 1ml per carto and around 3ml can be run into a carto, than i'm sure that it's a bit inaccurate right now... Otherwise, I may have a problem haha.

Other than that, thanks for reading and any type of advice would be really appreciated.

To check out some popular juices you may want to look at the review section to see what flavors people are vaping. Juice preferences vary widely from person to person so would say that only you can choose. Many vendors offer their flavors made to your PG/VG specs. VG may not wick as well in a cartomizer due to it's thicker consistency and I, personally, only use my heavier VG juices in an atomizer for this reason. Atomizers are great for trying out different juices without filling a whole carto so may be worth trying for you. If you haven't already, check out some videos on dripping to atomizers to get a feel for how it works. There are also a number of vendors that sell kr 808 cartomizers or atomizers - would start in the vendors section to look at the list of ECF approved (means good quality and no rip off) vendors.

Best of luck and welcome to the ECF!

First of all, welcome and congrats on switching! The Volt is a good starter kit. I picked one up last week because I'd heard such good things about it and I was impressed.

As for liquids, there are plenty of great vendors, but taste is subjective and an Ry4 from one vendor never tastes exactly the same as an Ry4 from another so it will take some trial and error.

I get the best results with a 70/30 PG/VG blend. It's thin enough to wick well, retains a lot of flavor, but has just enough VG to boost the vapor.

As for your dry throat, that is from the PG. VG will do the same. They are both humectants and will dry you out. When vaping you need to drink a ton of water. It not only helps with the dryness, but also helps to flush the toxins from smoking out of your system more quickly.

Again, congrats and don't hesitate to ask for help :)

What you got was a dry atty taste, the carto didn't burn. If you stop at this point and refill the carto it'll be fine.

I started out with the Volt but found Smokelessimage, at least for me, to be lacking in customer service and selection. You might want to take a look at Vapor 4 Life, or Elite Vaporworks. Good luck! :)

How were they lacking in customer service? They did respond to your request, just not in the way you wanted. I don't think that counts as poor customer services.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I'm thinking of getting a pack of CE2 Clearomizers (Probably from GotVapes when they come back in stock) to test juices, would this be a good idea? Only thing I heard about them is how annoying they are to take apart and whatnot. I will probably never carry a clearomizer outside the house, i'm just looking for a way to test new flavors without having to use a fresh blank every flavor change.

I did on the other hand read about people taking their old cartos and just taking out the filler and leaving the sock in it. Did that to 2 of my old cartos, only thing I wonder is about leakage and flavors staying in the wicking sock.

Also, anyone know what ohm range is safe for the Volt? It's a 3.6 regulated voltage from full or empty.

I wouldn't recommend using a CE2 or a cartomizer for testing. What you want to do is get a drip tip and a couple atomizers. Then, there is a juice called "Purity Flavor Eraser" that Vape the Rockies sells. Or you can just use 100% PG and/or VG cut with a little water to cleanse the atomizer between flavors. Drip a few drops of Flavor Eraser and vape it out between flavors.

A 3.6 should be fine for anywhere from 1.5-2.2 ohms. You're looking to get about 6-8 watts. 3.6^2=12.96. 12.96/2 = 6.48 Watts. Use that formula to decide what resistance atty to try.
