Jon - I regret having to post this on the boards, but I want to make sure you get this message since you have stopped replying to my emails. On 4/29, 4/30, and 5/1 I sent emails to you requesting a cancellation of my order from 2/3/14. After at least 7 reported delays from you and no estimated ship date for the last several weeks, I just did not want to continue waiting. Since you have not responded to my requests for a cancellation, and I do not see a credit back to my credit card, I have disputed the original charge with my credit card company. I am glad that you have some satisfied customers, but I will not be one of them. Take care and good luck.

I'd like to add to this, as I am still not done with this rubbish. After waiting 4 1/2 months for my order to be shipped, I was offered a refund. I accepted. I received an email several weeks ago saying the refund would be processed "today", but it never showed. I sent an email about a week ago asking if the refund was indeed processed, but have not received a reply.

After being extremely patient and polite over these near 6 months (!), I will be calling my bank at the end of the week if nothing shows.

Has anyone successfully opened a Futura? Just curious.

So I'm revisiting this topic. Has anyone ever actually disassembled the Futura? I'm curious about the possibility of swapping the DNA20 board for a DNA30 board. I don't want to damage my device, so I'm hoping I can learn something from those who came before me.

I certainly have never done it, nor would ever try it. But i do know the boards are slightly different in size.

Same here..... doesn't look good..... people been waiting forever and still dont have orders already placed. As bad as I want a dna30 in another color besides titanium, there are more and more 30w devices coming around............ I love my current one, and I really hope (wish) nexgen gets it together and starts shipping peoples orders and building mods. I think they've got the best looking mod, and maybe the best quality tube too..... but ignoring customers, avoiding emails, delaying orders.. How much bad PR can you read and still hand over $230?

I'm not even sure Nexgen is in business anymore at this point? I've sent several requests and questions about various things, trying to provoke somekind of response.... all emails seem to go unanswered. Its been weeks since anyone has heard anything from them, I think?

I've defended the guy and his company, trying to be understanding, life gets in the way, mishaps with suppliers, mistakes in ordering, maybe under estimating demand and lacking parts to build, etc.... but I'm done. I've been waiting to order a dna30 version, and now even if I could, I don't know that I would. I can get other 30w tube devices now less expensive than Futura...... and face it guys, the DNA30 is no longer the only game in town...

I'm not going to bad mouth anyone or any company, but I'm extremely disappointed in the (lack) of actions by Jon and his Nexgen company.............. Simple communication would have kept me interested.

This is a shame.
I'm still 110% happy with my Futura. What an awesome DNA30 Tube mod.
It's really unfortunate to read that these issues go unresolved. If properly managed NexGen would essentially be printing money.
At first it was just the delays and the excuses that we (the customers) had to put up with. Believe or not, those were the good old days. The idea that NexGen has cut communication is extremely concerning.

I'm sure its a great device an I'm disappointed I didn't get one but I'd be afraid that if it broke I'd have no reliable repair service. Also if I wanted to sell it the resale value is substantially lowered.
If a Provari breaks or a ZNA or a WE you ship it for repair on Monday and its back to you on Saturday.

Honestly, I would order a dna30 tomorrow if I knew I could order it and get it in less than 30 days. I've been debating colors... I've got a dna20 titanium, so I'd like either Black, stainless or aluminum color. With the release of all the black toppers lately, thats probably the one I'd get.

If he's still in business, I'm glad he's not taking order he know's can't fill.... but I'm confused as to why he is selectively answering emails. My emails have been about placing an order, buying pieces, upgrading my current model to a dna30 model. No replies.

If I knew I could open and upgrade my current unit myself, I'd do that too and I'd still order another one when the chance presented itself. :(
