This reminds me of one of my all time favorite performing and looking cranksets!

I still have a couple of these and they look fantastic even after 15 years.

Nice!!
He can't take a picture to save his life but he can anodize the heck out of some aluminum.
Super exciting stuff Paul. The 21st, I'm marking it picture day on my calendar :D
that's so true! They look so perfect in that lousy photo that my mind registers them as a CG.

Great job both of you (Paul and the anodizing guy) We're gonna get some good looking mods!

Can't wait for a nice blue one. We are getting closer I will have to start saving so money been waiting so long and would hate to loss my spot due to cash issues. Any idea about how much it will run us?

I originally priced it at $125, but decided to lower the price to under $100. This is made possible by reworking the design and using more off the shelf components. I can't give an exact figure right until production starts. Right now the only thing on my mind is testing that prototype. Some of the ppl making the prototype parts for me are not the same suppliers I will be using for production. I will give an exact figure once production is underway.

Can they do more uncommon colors? Like gunmetal, chameleon, etc?
I'm sure they can. But customization will add to the cost and I didn't really price the mod that way. Most likely I'll start off with just a few colors and make them in quantity to lower the cost for everyone. I really envisioned this initial mod to be basic and affordable, that's why I also went to great lengths making sure it's easy to assemble.

If there are significant demands for a certain color, I can always add more in the future. But since the mod is affordable, why not just get a neutral metal color to begin with, and if the color you want becomes available, buy another one? :)

what's a neutral metal color? aluminum? lol

at $100, i seriously wouldn't mind a couple. But, both should be what I like.

...great news, Paul. Is any development being done are present on the variable module? $150 might be an attractive target for the unit with variable components.

...black, of course. Perhaps silicone sleeves...
