Looking forward to this Paul and appreciate you keeping it budget friendly. For your future projects down the road, might I suggest offering a dual battery model? Seems with the small form factor, adding a dual 18650 model might still be relatively small and fit the hand nicely.
I'd definitely go for that!!

Or use a bigger fuse, I guess.

Yeah, I mean a 30A would be right at the ragged edge of the best batteries out there and since it's going to blow slow... if it ever did blow the battery would probably be useless but it might save an OSHA incident.

Or use a bigger fuse, I guess. I'm not easy on my mods either, but careful. I carry 4 mods with me to work everyday and if I end up dropping one or knocking it over hard, I won't use that one until I go home for lunch and check it. I know that he had pictured a 10 amp auto fuse, but I vape everything at nearly twice that, so unless there is some hardware factor that it's necessary to limit it to 10 amps, I guess I could just replace it with a 20 amp. I could still vape the way I like, but have some level of protection there. I say I don't have protection in my mechanicals, but really I do. I have 4 Reos that have a spring that will collapse and 4 Pekos with leaf springs that are supposed to drop, all in the event of a dead short, and may also drop if the ohms drop too low.
On any given day I drop my mod AT LEAST ONCE ...... And have never checked my ohms?? I'll sometimes pop the top cap to see if my wick has been compromised but what's the deal with checking the ohms? What could happen? other than a short in which case I'd feel the drop off from running duals to a single coil and have to rebuild.... I mean is there a danger to batteries from shorting coils (sorry if I sound STUPID but I short coils ACCIDENTLY sometimes by tweezering coils to make them touch...... no big deal... Just a pita do over...... I'm currently running a couple of grands ...... They've both taken nasty drops and direct hits to my atty's/510!!!

Paul, I'm wondering if you are still planning on using a fuse in your mod. I don't use any kind of fuse in any of my mechanical mods. I am just careful with my builds. Heck, if I knock over a mod, I'll remove the atty and check it on my ohm meter just to make sure it's alright. I just remember from a ways back talking about a 10amp fuse. I'd just soon not have one.

Yeah, the 10amp auto fuse is still used. That's one thing I like a lot. I'm a safety conscious person.

The auto fuse are screwed to the mod and you can replace it with a higher amp fuse, or jump it, I guess. But I don't recommend jumping it.

Depends on the fuse, but many will take 200% rated current for quite a while.

Have to check the specs on the fuse you use.

Honestly, I'd start with a 10A build and look at the contacts after a day or two of use.

20A and 30A fuses are easy to find if you need them, but again, I'd experiments t with an under rated fuse to see what you need for normal use but still offer protection.

A 20A fuse can likely take 30A pulses all day long (only 150% rated current) and still protect against a true short.

Thanks, Paul. I think a 20A would be perfect. Some of my builds come in at .2 ohms, but I try to get closer to .3. At .2 with a fully charged battery, it would be pulling 21A. I wouldn't have a problem running a fuse, like I said, if it doesn't impede how I like to build and vape. Most of the time, I am guessing that I am more likely at 15-17 amps. A 10amp fuse might hold for awhile, but a 20 would surely suffice. Knock on wood, I've never shorted an atty before, but anything can happen.

I guess I am just paranoid about a coil shifting during a drop. Many of my builds put the coils quite close to side walls or posts and I am just really cautious about even a small movement in them. But I'd rather be overly cautious than take it for granted that they'll be OK. I've never shorted an atty, vented a battery or even overheated one and I just want to keep it that way.

Hey Paul, do you have any indication when you will start selling these? I know it's hard to commit to a date when starting something like this, but can you guesstimate, July, August, December?
I'll have pics up in a day or two, Monday at the latest. In the first week after I get the mod set up, I will be doing testing. I think everything will be fine. Then I will produce them as fast as I can. Out of all those choices you gave, we can safely eliminate December. Late July, early Aug is most likely. I HAVE to get this out in the summer, that's a goal I've set for myself. It's personal.

Here is a pic of the blue mod with a RM2 attached.

I did vape on it today, haven't had any issues yet. I took my time putting it together since this is the first time for me and I had to learn the most efficient way to assemble this. Also tried to find any issues in the assembly process. Good thing everything pretty much came together according to plan.

The pic is taken at night so the lighting is not ideal. I will post more pics (and a video) later.
