BT, what does it say about those of us that get that?
And if we find it funny?
On a mech mod? You'll ask for a firmware update next

Was wondering how long it would take to hear from a *nix person, lol.A C:\ prompt...how cute and nostalgic. I have not seen one of those in years, I am accustomed to a BASH shell prompt that gives you the computer name and current working directory along with your current permission level.

Yep! When things get nerdy the *nix peeps always pop up.

Next week I'll post pics of a few other parts. But right now I'm still waiting for the machined pieces to finish the anodizing process. I'm curious to see how the gunmetal and other colors look like. My personal preference is bare aluminum. I made a few extra ones more than the number of people on the list, so there can be a little wiggle room as far as colors go.
I think the mod will turn out great. The only drawback is that my profit is almost non-existent due to the parts I later added and the fact I didn't really shop around as far as suppliers go. My goal is to get this released ASAP while juggling all the other things in my life. But hey, the experience I gained in this first batch is worth it I guess.

Would love to hear what parts you added/changes you made! That'll help tide me over before pics...![]()
Are you a software engineer?Well...I was a Linux guy only for a decade, then moved to Mac when they switched to the intel chip and the BSD kernel. I still "know" windows, and think that Windows10 is promising. However, I always found the windows command prompt/shell to be so limited when troubleshooting that it was frustrating.

I wish I still wrote code at work. Or soldered in the lab. Much more fun than the paperwork reviews I do now.I was a network engineer for a long while, moved on to management but still casually code in an assortment of languages (perl, php, cocoa, .net, basic, java, bash etc).
I'm one myself, but I'm bilingual.
I haven't booted my linux box since '09 as I don;t have room at home and can't have it at my new job.
Longer commute means I don't have as much free time either. And <4hrs sleep hurts more than it used to.

I hear you. For the first 20 years of my work life I could walk to work. For the last five, 1.5 hours one way.
+1 for the Whataburger! [emoji2]Thanks Paul! I'm itching to see the gunmetal. Experience gaining is worth the a sometimes bumpy journey.
Whenever I complain about work I stop to think that I'm lucky in that I have a seven minute drive to and from...seventeen if I stop for a Whataburger on the way home.
