Made the switch from the SS mesh wick to cotton. Wow, just wow. This Griffin is fabulous with this organic wick.

Made a wick last night with thinned out kitchen twine. Amazingly good vape using this in a Griffin. Chain vaping some Peach Tobacco. In vaping heaven right about now.:vapor:

Lesson learned is as has been stated in the link below numerous times was to keep the wick loose. To get the wick through the coil, and snake it down into the tank, I wet the wick with juice and twisted it tight. Once I had it in place, I used a sewing needle to spread out the wick so it just made contact with every part of the coil. Used magnifying head gear to get it just right.

Picked up a lifetime supply of wick from Publix at half the price Amazon sells it for btw. But I will use the Amazon pic:

with the cotton wick you just make a coil like you would on an ody, but just drop it down the hole?

Pretty much. What I did is use a brill bit to wrap the coil, and left the bit in to mount the coil. Removed bit, then passed the wick thru the coil and into the tank. Then spread out the wick to make contact at all points of the coil.

The SS mesh vapes nice once properly oxidized and any hot spots are eliminated. The cotton, though is head in shoulders better IMO. Another problem for me with the SS wick is even with a 2.8 ohm coil, on my Provari mini the battery life is less than half of a same rated coil non SS wick. Weird, but true.

What did you drill it out to? I did mine using a 1/16" drill bit and get a great hit off it. If I want a cooler hit, I put it right behind the wick and if I'd like it a little warmer I offset it. Of course, I guess it's all about personal preference. For me, reeming it out to 1/16" diameter was/is perfect.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing just with a 1.5mm drill bit if I can find it;)

I'll probably be wearing out my F5 key tomorrow night. :D

if they do show up they will not be online until 5:30PM or so.
No sense in refreshing until then :)

But they will be online before 7PM, so if they are not there by 7, they did not come in.
I will send out a newsletter and tweet.

love the reddit banner :)
