and the wick and coil sets won't be useful in the Griffin, (they're for Phoenix and Wyvern ?).

I got the Phoenix clone also. Can't beat 8.99, so that's good because I bought the wick and coil set.

What parts work (best) with the Griffin? And if you know/don't mind, a good place to buy them?

Know of a good place to buy a butane torch?

You can buy the screw-on head at Loews or Home Depot, then buy the canister of butane -OR- Harbor Freight sells some that are refillable with the small can of butane for refillable lighters. I have both - I would recommend the former as its more useful for other things and the HF ones are kind of junky.

I saw a vid on youtube and the guy had a handheld one that used a disposable lighter that fit in the handle for the butane source. Kinda cool. Haven't seen one for sale anywhere, though.

It's funny. I've got this very curious creature living with me that likes to know exactly what I'm doing at all times. 3 of them in fact. These creatures also likes to jump up and eat things that I'm messing with, or at the least knock them all over the floor. For instance when taking apart my vivi novas, they have jumped up and both eaten parts, and knocked them on the floor, covering them in hair and dust and whatever else. Things get lost quite a bit in this house, so any spare parts, especially those that only cost 99 cents, can come in pretty handy.

Hehe, "curious as a cat". Or are you speaking of toddler children... similar in psyche, only much stronger and more creative.

A decent quality torch is worth the investment. I recommend that you at least get one that can stand-up on it's own, with a locking on, so you can have both hands free.

I'm using a Bernzomatic butane torch that cost me like $28.00 at Lowes with a refill and it's doing the job OK for me.

The "Phoenix", done up with mesh Genesis style, is a beautiful little monster of a hitter: http://pinoyvaper.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/reinventing-the-phoenix-rebuildable-atomizer/
I use mine on a regular basis for juices that I want just a 5-6 hit taste of. (I take long hits.)

By "parts" for any Genesis I assume you mean mesh and wire... This gets into personal preference and vaping style now. In general you want to look at 28-32 gauge Kanthal resistance wire and #400-500 mesh wick.

Recommened reading: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/330407-500-ss-mesh.html

I can't see ever needing to replace a center post, and the wick and coil sets won't be useful in the Griffin, (they're for Phoenix and Wyvern ?).

You'll want a butane torch though, unless you have a gas stove.
I use the gas stove and it works great but a small torch setup would be nice as well.

i got my cleartubes but i am having a hard time putting it together, I got one side in but other other end of the tube just won't go in even without the oring.

this is for the griffin right? I tried about 4 of them, randomly, and they are from the same manufacturer (they even came in the same box) so this is.. kinda odd.

anyone else try theirs yet?

I have 2 tubes and a new griffin in the mail box. I'll check them in a couple hours when I get home from work and let you know.

Yes , Griffin. Bit too tight, almost like BD syringe. I got bottom side in (oring is damaged , looks that way). Do you know the material they used on tubing?

I just tried another one and it seems to be fine so I am at a loss here.. don't know on the plastic type, they didn't understand the question.
I tried google translate also LOL
I bought 3 pcs of cleartube, I've not tried the other two yet. I hope material will hold up my juice, I daily vape is Cinnamon candy fire with clove.

Got mine today also,1 went on nicely, the other one is way too tight even after using some oil to lube it.I don't want to hit it with anything and break it. I will say it's a huge improvement.
As far as the larger cap hole,it's way too airy or me.I opened my original hole to 1.25mm and that seems good to me.To each his own.
Thanks for the good service Gormly.

3 out of 4 tubes I got fit beautifully, 1 is too tight. I am sure just using a file or some sandpaper on the inner edge will take care of the problem. I have had this happen before when I have cut my own Carto tanks.

I am pretty sure the tubes are Polycarbonate.
