Hi. My name is Laisha, and I've been smoking for 51 years. Tried quitting, but I guess I just wasn't ready. Now, I have some medical problems which require me to quit, and so I've been trying this vaping thing for a few months.

Unfortunately, I seem to have problems after a week or so of buying a new kit. Here's my current problem. I do hope I can get some help understanding what I'm doing wrong.

Last week, I bought a Buck Naked Express Plus. That comes with a magnetic charger.

According to the packaging, it's an e battery, "Buck Naked Skinny" 180mAh Battery ("250 puffs per charge").

I've recharged it twice, and shortly after the second one, it appeared to need another charge. So I put it in the charger, the light on which immediately turned green.

I pulled it out of the charger and tried to turn it on, but in response to my clicks, the battery gives 7 or 8 fast blinks. (That's not an estimate. Sometimes it's 7 and sometimes it's 8.)

The package says to push the button 3 times within 2 seconds, though I found it needs to be 5 times right after I bought it. I've tried both methods. And then I tried 7 and then 8. No go.

I would drive the 70 miles to the smoke shop and ask there or exchange, or maybe just start crying, but it's 5:44 pm Christmas Eve and they're not open until Wednesday.

Any direction would be helpful. Any interpretation of the 7 or 8 blinks would also help.

I'm reduced to biting my nails. Help!

Hi, Merry Christmas!
Do you have only have the express plus kit or do you have multiple batteries/toppers/tanks/cartomizers?

This is the express plus kit:

This is the "skinny" 180 battery system.

Which are you using?

Where are you located?

Cheers

Merry Christmas to you too, Izan! And thank you for responding!!

I have the Express Plus kit. It has a magnet dock. I'm using the picture you posted, but it's exactly like mine:

I also have an Express with a sometimey battery (sometimes it charges, sometimes not) and an Express topper, from separate kits. The battery on this one isn't a magnet one, but one that you have to take off the topper and screw the battery into the charger. It looks like this:

I'm sorry, but I don't know what a tank or a cartomizer is. Would love to know, though. :)

The Skinny battery doesn't look like mine. The button is round and transparent or white, though it definitely says "Skinny" on the package.

I'm in northern Maine.

Hi Laisha. Welcome to the ECF.

I don't have one of these e-Cigarettes. But on Most e-Cigarettes, it "5 Clicks" to turn it On. And 5 Clicks to turn it off.

But on some of my e-Cigarettes, you have to do the 5 Clicks REALY Fast. So I find myself just Clicking it as Fast as I can until it turns on/off.

Here are some other Threads from people who have the same Brand as you do...

Can't get buck naked express to work

Buck Naked? Broken or am I doing it wrong?

questions about using buck naked

If it wasn't mentioned in those Threads, you might try Unscrewing the Atomizer and then Screwing it back on.

Welcome.
Sadly the brand you have chosen is cheap garbage sold at inflated prices.
Shop elsewhere. Take advice on here. Don't fall from these horrible brands.
I fell for trash. Many do. It's a miracle this hardware works at all.
Sorry to break the bad news. Good luck. David

Djsvapour is right, that is not the most reliable kit available.. if you provide a little information on your smoking habit, I bet you will get plenty of recommendations.. how many per day? Baditude should be along shortly with some good info on starter kits too.. don't give up, it will work, just maybe not today, or tomorrow..

What you seem to have appears to be an ego style carto kit. The cartomizer is the smoked plastic but that screws not top of the battery. The battery (the orange part) I remember best as screwing into a charger. The magnet system is new to me and may be the source of your problem. It may also be the battery itself. That design of battery has long been known for poor reliability.
It sounds like the problem is the battery terminal is not making contact with the charger.
One possibility is the positive terminal (the bit in the center of the connector) may have gotten pushed in too far. It is a plug of metal soldered to a wire at the bottom which floats in a rubber grommet. It has a certain amount of play in it and can sometimes be teased back up a bit with a pin or toothpick levered around the sides. Doing so may or may not help I’m afraid. The battery button is also delicate and the electronics inside are cheap and they might have broken too.
The ego design is over ten years old and never worked particularly well even when it was new. I am constantly surprised when I’d see them for sale. There are much better more modern designs out these days. They are pretty cheap though at least.

Welcome. You're in the right place now, as there's nothing we like more than helping someone get clear of cigarettes. The best advice has already been given. I strongly recommend Baditude's blog, as linked above, and if you have any questions after reading it please ask. We'll be happy to help you find a good device that will work for you.
