Sonora, México.
Hello there guys, i would like to take this opportunity to both introduce myself and ask some specific questions.

Im Ed, im from Mexico and i just found out about e cigs, man, this looks promising, up until a while ago i was a pack a day smoker in weekdays and most of the weekends i smoked up to 2 or 3 packs, sometimes in a single night :S, so even tho i dont expect miracles i have a bit of hope in this.

Now, regarding my question, i've read the e cig guides, great job btw guys those guides are what truly made me stay here and give it a go, but, even as informative as they are (and they are VERY informative) im still confused about what should i do in my situation, you see me living in Mexico (Sonora State just south from Arizona) i guess i'll have to order whatever starter pack i finally decide upon to a friends house in Tucson or Nogales Arizona, this means i wont be able to travel regularly to pickup my orders, my guess is once a month.

Also i just graduated university (Criminal Psychologist) and as im working on my thesis so money is a bit of an issue, so i guess i can only spend around 70 USD at the most, perhaps i could strech to 80 but thats it :S.

So, given the information i've gathered from your guides my "ideal" specs would be:

Size: Doesn't matters, i WOULD prefer a PEN size since its still "cigarette" looking and apparently has better battery life than minis, but if theres a bigger one out there that will deliver MORE given the same approximate price range i wouldn't mind.

Design: Black with blue LED, might go for silver, copper or crimson.

Replacements: the longer the battery life the better, i already mentioned i might not be able to place another order in about a month so something around that range, tho im not asking for miracles lol, the same goes for the rest of the components, basically i just dont want to run out of whatever i might need to replace first in 1 month, is there a starter pack that could cover that? or should i add more atomizers, batteries or whatnot? if so, what and in what quantities?

Flavor: Im used to smoking the harshest analogs available in here and those are strong, so even tho flavor its nice, i dont mind it if its just a hint of flavor, the more the better yes, i guess that as long as its noticeable its good. Being picky i would go for Apple or Camels flavor.

Drag and Throat Hit: i DO like a good throat hit and as drag goes something like the videos at youtube mention "like drinking water from a straw", IDEALLY i mean, if its harder i dont mind its not REALLY important.

Manual or Automatic: I would go for manual but i dont mind if auto is the only option available, again, its not really important.

Rechargeable, not disposable.

Usage: I dont mind if i have to replace often while on weekdays since im mostly in front of a pc and i would love a tru pass usb charger, i actually prefer strong components insted of weak and thin cables as in the examples some of you guys have kindly given us, but on weekends i plan to take my e cigs to the pub and there i wont be close to a power source for around 4 or 5 hours, i dont mind taking all the batteries with me fully charged, but i guess a PCC would come in handy here.

From the specs above the most important are "replacements", "design" and "usage". I throw "design" in instead of others because e cigs practically doesnt exist in here (at least in Sonora as far as i can tell) and since, as i have said, i plan to take the e cigs with me to the pubs and clubs i visit, it would help the e cig have a better image with either within my social circle or with people just curious about this, which i would love to promote.

I'm trying to to ask the typical newbie question "whats the best e cig?", but rather, i'd like to ask: given your experience whats the best e cig for my situation? from which dealer should i order? i dont mind doing multiple orders from multiple dealers, tho i guess a starters pack (with any kind of battery charging option) its the key issue here, but also if its possible i would love a PCC and tru pass USB charger, that would rock.

From what i've read these options seems good, but i dont know if they fully deliver what im looking for:

1.- RN4072 Penstyle at mypvshop(dot)com/store/electronic-cigarettes/rn4072/ (this seems like a REAL nice option)

2.- Authentic Joye510 pushbutton e-Cigarette kit (Matte black with BLUE LED) Genuine joyetech! vaporkings(dot)com/e_Cigarette_starter_kits_s/3(dot)htm

or at

electronicstix(dot)com/JOYE-510-SERIESSTAINLESS-WITH-RED-LED-510mstnred(dot)htm

It seems tho that option #1 its better for my tastes tho...eventually i plan to get the Prodigy but its price seems out of my range at the moment.

If there is another option that you think its better plz tell me about it, im deeply thankful for your time reading this and your efforts in answering me :).

Is your budget to include the E-Juice too? Your budget may limit you. I will tell you, I was not happy with the 510.. you have to deal with lack of power a lot.

How much do you spend on smoking a month? That should give you a better idea of what you should spend on these e-cigs. You also have to think of a back up. What happens if it fails.. or breaks.. do you have spare batteries and atomizers? you don't want to be 2 weeks in to quitting.. and then you lose your device.. or something breaks.. and you are stuck with going back to smoking

If I were you, I would save your money.. and look at a protege.. or a GG-Slim. The 510 for a heavy smoker.. needs extra batteries.. and by the time you get those.. its still not the most consistent in my opinion/experience. I went with a Protege after having my 510 for 3 weeks, difference was night a day. I don't need but one spare battery.. IF that.. to get through a work day ( the 510 i was recharging batteries constantly at work.. 6 charges go me though a day ) but I was rotation 3 batteries. A passthrough would help.. but I move around a lot at work....

Now all I take is my protege and one spare battery.. and juice. thats it.

Also, look at the GG Slim... very nice unit as well. Most likely my next backup.

I will have a lot of money in this by the time I am done.. BUT.. after that.. will save a ton over my 330 bucks a month I was spending on analogs. Give your self a chance to be successful with a quality unit... a spare.. extra atomizers.. and plenty of juice.

LiteCigUSA.net - sells a variety of starter kits in your price range. Also sells 50ml juice for about $23. Or, you can get 10ml bottles for under $5, so you can check out different flavors.

Make sure you have at least 3 atomizers for whatever you pick if you are only going to order once a month. And get at least 2 packs of blank carts.

From my experience, (I use an M401,) 3 batteries, 3 atomizers to start. Batteries last from 2.5 to 3 hours of constant vaping before needing a recharge. The con is the small cart size.

The M201 has a lot of devoted users and 510 users seem to also really like their brand.

You can also check out MadVapes.com. They have a cheap 510 starter set (not the 9.99 ones,) but I think it's a Boge, not a Joye.

However, I do want to point out that many people are going to a Bartleby (a custom box mod.) 510 atty and all day battery life. It's about $50 bucks.

I too love my Joye 510!!!

Your budget is a bit limited. You probable could get started with a 510 kit, a little juice, and still afford at least one extra battery and atomizer. You do want extras (especially batteries) and it's much easier, when trying different flavors, to have extra atomizers. But it sounds like you also need a pass through and probably a PCC too. That would put you over $100 at least with a 510. And I think EVERYONE should order multiple flavors of e-juice-several tobacco, a menthol flavor (even if you don't normally smoke menthol) and at least one or two non-menthol flavors. The flavor that "works" for you may be the one you least expect to like!!!!

Perhaps another model would be a little less to get started on -I've only used a 510. Or maybe you should save your money for a few more weeks so you have more options. One thing to remember, if you successfully quit smoking, you will be saving whatever you formerely spent on cigarettes!!

Try the 510 maybe a pcc with it and a usb passthrough this would be about 70 bucks give or take. Then get a 24-36 mg juice and drip. Thats what I have done and I had no great wanting to quit analogs but I havent had one since It came in the mail. Good luck hope this helps!
ps. You could get just the 510 kit first, just to see if you like it. Then make a decision even if you smoke analogs while you wait for your other parts to come in so you dont throw a bunch of money out. I heard cignot has a kit for 35 bucks or rockymountainvapor.com is where i go. GL!

Eddie;

I'm going to tell you differently just incase the cost of the above post are too much.

I'd get the cheapest piece of junk I could find in a starter kit. I'd try it for a while just to make sure E-cigarettes would help me quite. If you get a kit, and you are sure it will help you quite smoking.....THEN, start saving your money up.

I'd recommend saving up $200...$300 American dollars. Then go shopping with one of these suppliers.

I'd recommend;

1. Two of those 510 (no box) starter kits. $70 dollars
2. Two bottles of smoke juice (your flavor). $16 to $36 dollars
3. Ten pyramid tea bag 'type' blank cartridges. $15 dollars (pyramid tea bag cartridges work better all around).

Everybody was saying 'get spare batteries and atomizers'. That 510 (no box) starter kit has two batteries and two atomizers each! Plus, each one has a recharger, and five factory filled cartridges.

You'll notice, after reading my post, you still have money left to buy more things.

Thank you very much for your time answering my post i really appreciate it :D!

Ill try to take into account all the info you guys have given me, now i have a wider view on this matter and im less frustrated, thank you very much.

@the86d: Im mexican, i studied in a mexican university and im living in Mexico, does my degree is valid in USA? yes, as long as i do some certifications (taking some evaluations by the APA -American Psychology Asociation-). My aim is to pick a job working for the Gov. (the Mexican Gov. i should specify lol).

Anyway, as soon as i recieve my order (still havent decided) ill tell you guys who it went :D, thanks!
