Since I see nothing in your initial post that asks anyone's opinion of whether or not you, as an adult, should or should not partake of vaping... ::ahem::

Look through the Forum Suppliers here and get yourself a 510 Starter kit. Be sure that you get yourself some 'blank' cartridges - the ones that come with the kit will be prefilled with nic-juice. You can get the 510 in a nice selection of colors, should be something there that you'd like.

NIcotine is addictive, we all know that. But honestly, you are not going to become addicted from contacting it once. In fact, I would expect that the e-cig you tried did in fact have nicotine in it. Ok, I'll wait a minute while you go find a mirror and check your back for monkeys..... So assuming you have no nicotine monkey clinging there, go with the 0mg juice. If a vendor ever screws up and sends you jucie with nic in it, you will no doubt feel it in short order.

Since you aren't looking to satisfy a smoking habit, you'll probably not be inhaling the vapor into your lungs anyway. Not something that most non-smokers are comfortable with. Draw into the mouth and exhale through the nose gives a good flavor experience.

Yeah, I know that actually answering your question, not lecturing you like a child, won't be popular. Oh well, flame on folks. I feel better knowing your flame is aimed at me, not at the end of a paper tube filled with tobacco.

Most of us that are previous smokers acknowledge that the hand to mouth motion is as strong an addition as nicotine. OP, you may just use 0 nic but please think about starting a habit that you may not be able to leave behind as easily as you think. It can become a costly habit / hobby and it may become a door you wish you had never opened.

Just my opinion....if you're over 18, you're free to make your own bad decisions just like the rest of us.

I don't think anyone here posted with the slightest intention to lecture. I regard the replies as advice you would give to a friend, caring enough about their well-being to be honest with them. I smoked for 37 years-I would never recommend to ANYONE to inhale ANYTHING they didn't have to, but adults are entitled to make their own decisions. My husband of 27 years, at 61, never having smoked, non-drugs, Rare drinker, has his own e-cig, to vape 0 nic Kahlua and Cream, and Licorice, lol. He just plain likes the taste. He would never dream of putting nicotine in his system, he doesn't take it anywhere, he just vapes at the computer when we play Rift

Exactly. Its not so much a lecture as a caution. One must be sure of themselves when making such choices. I mean, sure vaping is hell of safer than walking down the street inhaling exhaust, spraying Lysol crap in a room, smoking, etc. But it still isn't entirely harmless or to be taken lightly. Once a person understands that, its no different or dangerous than a jolly rancher obsession ...

I also would recommend against picking up vaping, many of us do recognize that the hand to mouth motion is just as addictive as the nicotine itself. If you've made up your mind despite the warnings then I guess I'll recommend a good kit, you're an adult and can make your own decisions.

Riva lite kit from liberty-flights ($30)
A 510 driptip of your choosing ($2ish) also from LF
5 pack of Boge LR (2.0 ohm) cartomizers ($8) also from LF

So for $40 (be sure to click the 20% discount in upper left of liberty flights) you can have a good setup. Cig sized devices suck, the Riva is slightly bigger but has much better performance.

Only thing you need then is juice and you can find that at many places. I recommend rawrvapor and pinkspotvapors.

This setup lets you try dripping and cartomizers (and cartridges but cartridges suck and noone uses them). If you like the cartomizers you can get 15 Boges for $20 and free shipping @ crystalclearvaping.com

DONT START When we all started many moons ago it was considered cool then. Guess what~I grew up and 30 years later IT IS NO LONGER COOL. Where I come from it's considered just plain stupid now,and people think we are just uneducated ...... who dont know what the side effects of smoking are. Now that I am much older I am glad I was able to educate myself with much help from people here. That's why now I vape. I'm in a medical field and I've seen people die from lung cancer. I don't want to be one of them. Seriously though, please think this all through.

If you are dead set on doing this check out DIY Flavorshack. I've been dealing with them awhile. Dawn is very helpful. I haven't gotten a product/juice that I did not like from them yet. Also I agree with another post I glanced over in that you only get what you pay for. You don't have to go top of the line but quality counts.

Thanks people it means alot that you guys dont want me to smoke and such. But im going to be the bad guy here and try it out anyways ;). I was looking at this im completly new to e-cigs but love hookahs so this looked very appealing to me. Any insight?

E-Hookah (TM) Cartomizer Kit - Web Limited Edition + 3 FREE Cartomizers - XO2, Inc.

For only 22 dollars shipped its not bad at all.

Not that good either. That looks like a cheap disposable, really. You can get 510 kits with two batteries, two atomizers, 5 carts, USB and wall charger for $30, or Volt two-piece kits with 2 batteries, 5 cartomizers, USB and wall charger starting at $45. For recreational, nicotine-free use -- although I wouldn't recommend it to a non-smoker, like most here -- something like that would fit the bill just fine. But keep in mind these things do take a bit of getting used to, particular if you've never smoked before. For us smokers the adjustments are tiny prices to pay for being smoke-free. For non-smokers who want a casual and possibly pleasant experience there is a certain degree of care and maintenance involved and an expense layout, the degree of which is determined by what you want, how often you plan on doing it, and how much experimenting you'll need before you find the combination of hardware and liquid that you like best. Most of us spent hundreds of dollars before we finally landed on something we liked -- and even then we still experimented in search of the next best thing. I've probably spent more than a thousand dollars in the last 4-5 months alone. It's still less than I'd have spent on cigarettes, but if cigarettes aren't part of your normal expenses then this may end up seeming a bit expensive for a casual experience.

I agree with everything that's been said so far. Obviously not putting foreign toxins into your body is always the safe way to go. I have a friend who justifies her analog habit by saying there's just as many detrimental compounds in the air we breathe these days, but that's beside the point. I echo the firm belief that vaping has thousands less toxins than smoking cigs (about 4,999 less... With the exception of nicotine.)

It looks like you're dead-set on this, so the best any of us can do is just educate you the best we can, right? The facts are this. It's been proven that the likelihood of an individual who starts smoking, much less becomes addicted, undergoes a drastic decrease after age 18. Since you're on this forum, I'm going to go ahead and assume you're an adult and can make your own choices. I started smoking at age 12 and therefore have smoked just under half my life up until this point. That fact alone really bummed me out to the point of wanting to stop puffing on a neatly wrapped deathwish containing a longer list of chemicals than a nuclear bomb. I don't think I'll vape my whole life as I hate the idea of being a slave to anything, but for now and what I assume to be for the next several years, this is my life. And it was a godsend, as PV's have been for so many people here. I'm one of "those people" - some part of my brain chemistry has plunged me into the world of addictive tendencies. Assuming you've made it this far without any such issues, you are not. And while I don't encourage it for personal reasons, you shouldn't have to miss out on something you're curious about just because of that fact.

I've heard that the eGo's are fantastic devices. If you are generally active or are like my boyfriend, a self-described "abuser of technology", the Maxi Roughstacks get awesome reviews as well (I just ordered us each one- his in blue, and mine in raspberry ;)). Neither of them are close to an analog in size or appearance. If you don't want something that looks like a cig (and I think that's a great idea for helping you stay away from the heinous world of analogs- they were made for those trying to get OFF the analogs who desired something similar initially), stay away from the kr808d-1's and 2's.

Most juice sites offer a huge selection of nic levels and 0mg should almost always be in stock because us nicofiends need our fix, man. ;) Some of my favorites are Vapor Bomb, Ms. T's Bakery, Kick Bass, and Vapor4Life. All have great-tasting juice and some will even save you money for buying 0mg nic. Or you can always browse the forum suppliers. I speak from experience, don't order something random that "looks" like a good deal. The members here won't steer you wrong. :)

Good luck! I'm in the same boat as you and got the same type of reception, so just to get this out of the way before I offer any advice - I am assuming:

1. You are of legal age
2. You are not here to gather evidence against vapers and encourage the banning of vapes
3. You are not doing this because you 'like, totally want to be cool!'

If the first three assumptions are correct, then I would say to take the advice here from those who are willing to give it, and then, to help build up a knowledge base, I recommend watching/reading:

-GrimmGreenIndustries (this is his website, he is also on youtube)
-On youtube, look up bigicedog and doctorvapor (doctorvapor has "classes" that are especially helpful)
-Go to the ECF Library and read the material there.
-Go to Electronic Cigarette Terminology and click the tab for ecig terminology
-Check here Parts and Accessories of the E-Cigarette for help with understanding what the basic parts of an ecig do
-Read this thread Names, Numbers And Prefixes - Vapor Talk E Cig Forum for some help understanding what the numbers and letters mean in the ecig descriptions

The youtube vids and the library here were the most helpful for me - they will build your basic knowledge very quickly and then you can go from there.

As far as a purchase, if you don't want a cigarette lookalike, you'll probably want some sort of mod. A lot of people seem to like the silver bullet, which looks nothing like a cigarette, and the ego, which is a mod but is not very big, and vaguely resembles a cigar in shape and size (though not in color). Mods come in all shapes and sizes though - cigar size, box shape, small medium, huge, wood, metal, some let you choose voltages.... it just depends what you decide you want. Check out the forum vendors page and start surfing around. And don't be shy about emailing vendors with questions - they all seem to be very helpful.
