Introduction and quick question!

Hey guys!
Been lurking for a while, made the plunge, and just got to rip open my very first vapemail! I went with a volt starter kit with both the smooth and sweet sampler. I'm looking to quit the analog habit and this just seemed like the right place to do it. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all and becoming a part of this wonderful community.
Anywho, which flavor to choose first? I want to try a sweet but want to save watermelon. I choose cherry screw it on and let her rip. From what I understand on cartos they sometimes need a prime hit or two. Well I've given it 8hits or so and although I've got great vapor clouds, the taste is just barely barely there. I was a little disappointed at first because I was expecting huge flavor, I really started to worry.
Not wanting to open another of my blisters I stole a carto from my moms stash. She just got a V2 a week ago. I put it on my batt and there was the flavor I was expecting. I got excited again! Now I assume the first carto wasn't dry because I got vapor, maybe the batch was bad? Or is the hardware malfunctioning? Should I keep puffing at it? Also, being as excited as I am, I want to rip open all of these blisters and trying all the flavors, but I'm scared they'll dry out if I don't get around to them right away. If I open but keep the condoms on will they keep alright?
Sorry for the rambling but I am super pumped. Thanks for taking the time to answer if you can help. And hopefully I'll see you guys around!

Well I just took a few quick pulls into the mouth. Kinda like starting a cigar.

You can open the pre-filled cartos and not worry. Just re-cap with the condoms that they were packaged with.

I also started my vaping experience with Smokeless Image Volts and the sweet sampler of pre-filled juices. Being that I was a menthol smoker at the time, I also had bought some blank (empty) cartos from Smokeless Image and a bottle of their Ice Menthol. I have to say that, like you, I was not impressed at all with the pre-filled cartos. Flavors were very weak. However, the Ice Menthol in the blank cartos was great.

I recommend you get some blank cartos and some sample packs of bottled juice flavors. You might have better luck with other vendor's juice selections. The only flavors I ever cared for from Smokelss Image was their Ice Menthol and Classic Grape.

Hi Lox, First Welcome to the ECF. Congratulations on making the switch. Yes you may open them, and then if they dont suit you then put the condoms back on them and they will keep for a few weeks without being unuseable. They should stay wet for a very long time with the covers in place.

On the first part there are many many different formulations of on single flavor. With that said there are some that are strong on flavor, some that are more a hint of flavor, different manufacutrers lean in different directions. Thats why there are so many different liquid makers who cater to different tastes.

Once you begin to notice the flavor and vapor start to drop off, unscrew the carto and put it aside, as long as you dont get a burnt flavor you can re-fill them and reuse them over and over again with a bottle of e-liquid. Just make sure that th flavor you put in will compliment the flavor that was in the carto originally. Or you could boil the empties to remove all old flavorand let them dry to refill them with a new totally different liquid.(not worth the time in my opinion, but it does work) Or just get some blanks and go from there.

Thanks! I just ripped open an RY4 and it's tasting much much better. Maybe it was just the one cartridge. I know I'd like to start filling myself and eventually get into the tanks. I'm starting to feel a bit more confident in my decision now.

Wow, I've never heard about boiling them to clean! Just a few minutes in water then let them dry out?

Personally, I've never gotten it to work and cartos are relatively cheap but if you want to try it here is a good video on cleaning them

Great! Ill give it a try and report back! Why did it fail for you? Some residual flavors left over?

I've let them dry for nearly a week after boiling but they don't fire. Who knows...you may have better luck.
