Hi Eric,
A few more thoughts on it:
- I don't regret buying the rDNA 40. It's a nice device that I enjoy using (although in the end I use only a fraction of its capabilities)
- That power profile setting on the SX Mini might be handy; I remember the first days after quitting tobacco, I was trying to emulate "cigarette smoking" with the Nautilus Mini. I had it set at the smallest air intake hole, and I was taking long mouth-to-lungs puffs - just to get a similar feeling to sucking from a filter cig. Problem was that near the end of the puff the coil temp was getting pretty high and I was getting some burnt taste if I was not careful (the juice was "caramel" and it really was caramelizing over the coil); here's where the TSC coils should had come handy but they didn't work that well, they tended to gunk quicker than regular BVCs. I bet that the "power" profile on the SX mini might have worked well for that purpose (i.e. decreasing the power near the end of the puff). I have since gradually moved to shorter puffs and larger air intake - where I don't feel the need for a Temp protected mode anymore.
- The Atlantis I find overpowered for me since my purpose was to replace tobacco cigarettes with vape; I am observing to vape similarly to how I used to smoke - i.e. get some 10-12 puffs at same time intervals (i.e. about once per hour). The Nautilus Mini @ 10 Watts and 18mg produced something very similar to cigarettes. The Atlantis wakes up at about 20W (under that threshold the vape is "cold" and "wet"), but at that power it produces way too much "smoke" for my purpose. I've since "downgraded" to 12mg and I hope to reduce even more in the future.
Hi Caramel, welcome in 2015 & thanks for your reply !
I was just reading here on the, forum that Vaporshark has started there, first shipments of there, Cyber-Monday sale concerning the rDNA40, which is (very) nice for the people who ordered them.
I am still glad that I made a chance and have made a choice for the SX-Mini, probably (also) a overkill due the features and wattage, but the TC function of the rDNA40 I would have never been using.
And if it (maybe) all does not work out for me the SX-mini will be easy to sell, especially overhere because no Dutch vendor has the SX-Mini for sale for on this moment.
But, I will doubt it of the, 3 power mode settings won,t work out for me, the more I read about it here on the forum ( see link below) the more I am starting to get convinced, that I will be make a difference into the way I vape.
I will found out this in hopefully a few days, as my ordered SX-Mini is all-ready in my Country (almost) on..his way to me
A little correction here, according..to my usage of wattage..the last few days, I have my VW-kick complete "open" so that must be +/- 15watts according to the specs, with the use of my, mini nautilus BVC (1.6ohm) coils.
I can feel now, that I probably can go higher in wattage, it is not necessary of-course it is just the, way I experience my vape now, there will probably a lot to found out for me, according to the 3 power mode settings...in this review (see link below) he recommends the, Soft mode for in use with the Atlantis with serious chain-vaping, I think he explains it very well.
I am really looking forward to go, experimenting with the SX-mini and especially with the, Atlantis (bought on FT) which is also on his way to me, somewhere between the Netherlands and...China.
The good thing for you with the Atlantis is, that you are going down in, nicotine ! I am on 12mg now and I will probably go down on that in use with the, Atlantis the probably "downsides" for this will be the (very) large clouds/"smoke"..where I am my, "environment" are not so fond of..and the, heavenly usage of liquid..how is that with you and the Atlantis.
I keep you posted, first when I get the SX-Mini in my hands !
