I had the fortunate experience of a buddy letting me pull on his altsmoke omega last weekend. I took a few drags and decided right then and there that this was going to be my preferred method of nicotine consumption. THat night i ordered my own, and i am anxiously awaiting my new found friend to arrive from the brown santa clause. I have spent the last few days lurking around, and i realize now that i might have gone off the deep end by buying a big battery mod for my first PV, however, i really dont want to .... with the batteries multiple times per day.

I am a half a pack/day smoker now, and i am looking forward to taking my last analog draw. I smoke american spirits yellows, and i was blown away by the throat hit and nicotine buz that the 36mg PG/VG juice gave. For my first juices i bought a 6 pack of 36 mg varieties, and a 20 ml bottle of american spirit at 48 mg (VG). I also bought a bottle of pure glycerin (PG) to cut it with. Soon, i will be buying 500l bottles of 100mg to make my own juices with, i really want to try some bourbon in a mix.

My silver bullet hopefully will pull me through :) :vapor:

Hi and welcome. Sounds like you will soon be off and running. The only thing I'd like to point out is the possibility that cutting your juices may not work for you. It does work for some, but for a lot of us, it weakens the flavor too much. Therefore, I would suggest ordering a couple of small bottles of some flavor at low or no nic content to mix with until you can figure out nic content and the flavors you like. That way you'll have them just in case. Again, congrats on making some choices and best of luck. JD. :vapor:

My thought with cutting the juices was to take 65% of the 48mg tobacco flavor, 25% PG, and 10% whiskey lol. THe flavor is not what i am really after for at the moment (at least i dont think) i am going more for the nicotine. I am ready for a more friendly non smoker household to get my fix. When i tried my buddies PV over the weekend, i could hardly taste any flavor. I tried his 36 mg cherry, and 36 mg bubblegum. I might have got a hint of smell from the vapor, but i could not taste anything. More then anything, i tend to want to stock up on things that arent that available, or might become regulated. Once i get what i like dialed in, i want a few year supply lol. I live way up in the mountains, and i have a bit of a Y2k mentality anyway.

No prob allen. I read and watched a few reviews and the sb has probably the easiest switch on the planet (it better be for that size )

I know! that thing is huge. I thought the omega looked big, and this is even bigger. I ordered the BB saturday night, and changed the order to the silver bullet this morning after Rob talked me out of a passthrough for the BB. I really wanted something that i dont have to deal with multiple times per day. Once a day max, i hope to get a solid two days out of my batteries. We will see.

One last thing on altsmoke, i am a total green horn, but that does not mean i dont reconize someone who cares when i see it. Rob at altsmoke was amazing this morning. Spent a solid 40 min on the phone with me giving solid advice on general things, and down selling me the whole time.. i called in to add a 50 pass through for the BB, and ended up with a silver bullet with three bats, a atty to go along with my carts, and spent 20 less then i would have on the passthrough..

By pure glycerine do you mean Propylene Glycol (ie. PG) or USP Glycerine (i.e. VG)?

Sounds like you are jumping in with both feet!

And be careful not to over nic yourself. 24mg is enough for most full-strength cigarette smokers. 36 mg is needed by some when starting. And that all assumes vaping about as much as you smoked. What seems like a cool buzz vaping once could end up being a huge headache, dizziness, and/or rapid heartbeart if you overdo it.

Taste is mostly smell. The tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour and some savory msg flavor the Japanese discovered. Everything else is smell. You need to let your nose get some of the vapor. Cigs do that by themselves by bathing you in smoke. E-cigs do not.

You're reminding me of me when I started. lol. The only thing I would suggest is to keep firmly in mind that starting out, you can't correctly predict what you'll like and need until you experiment some. Vaping is a brand new ball game, and if ever there was a lesson in 'every thing is relative', vaping has to be a great example. lol. For example, I tried mixing a couple of drops of flavored vodka to one of the fruit flavors I had. It increased the TH and tasted great. Great! said I as I mixed up a bigger batch. But later, I started to notice that it was making my throat feel 'scratchy', and soon, every vape I took started feeling 'sandpaper-ry'. Long story short, it didn't work out for me. Does not mean it won't work for you but I'm just suggesting--go slow until you figure it out. JD. :vapor:

I tend to jump into things pretty fast. sometimes its good, sometimes its bad. Im a techie and a tinker. this is right up my alley. Thanks for the advice!
