My name is Jimmy i'm 27 years old and i've been smoking since is was 13. heavily since i was 15 (marlboro reds) about 2 and a half weeks ago I saw a guy at a house warming party sucking on what looked like a silver pen. I paid no attention and then the next day saw a video of e smoking online.

I'm a REALLY impulsive dude. So, the moment i saw the video i did a crap load of research. I read all over that blu's were garbage and njoy's were aswell. basically, any e cig that mimic'd analog's down to the T were trash.

Within 30 minutes I read from enough forums that the 510 joye was the best starter. I found a local vendor and ordered it, told him i'd throw an extra few bucks his way if he dropped it off at my work place. When he was on his way, i threw my old pack of smokes to my co worker and said "I don't need these anymore"

I haven't touched a cigarette since.

Since then i've gotten an Ego (which is ok) and i've converted 4 of my co-workers to e smoking aswell as a perfect stranger in radio shack (She got a blu though 8( ) and my mother!

To any newbie looking for any, i'd recommend not only this site but aswell as a podcast. Vaporcast on itunes is fantastic. I have listened to nearly a full year of podcasts in the past 2 weeks aswell as all the possible mod reviews i can get my hands on.

Sorta ...... i just got into this. Because, i'd of loved to be at vapefest.

Right now i'm thinking about getting a 5v wetbox from cloudsofvapor.com when they are released in a few weeks and whenever Cisco rolls out the helix i'm going to get my hands on one of them aswell.

This has changed my life. I wake up better and i'm much more healthy. I've always enjoyed smoking but i hated the smell it left on me and my breath. Now i can embrace my enjoyment of vaping and actually have a entire community to talk to about it.

Cheers guys.

I've become 100% absolutely obsessed.

G'day Jimmy, good to see you're on-board!!!

My own story goes to approx 40 years of smoking to 7 months of vaping, and thoroughly enjoying it!! Never looked back.

You will find your own way through the maze of options but the thing I find enthralling is that the technology is so young and we have the future developments to look forward to.

If it is this good now, what will be in the offing in 12 months time!!

Congrats on 7 months that's fantastic!

You know, you say imagine what will come in a year with this young technology out now. But, I can't see it getting much better. I mean, bruce and missy from COV have a incredibly awesome product (5v wetbox....WHOA??? LOL) We have Provari coming out that let's you have DIGITAL variable voltage changing. The helix and the pulse have frekkin computers IN THEM basically LOL

The silver bullet is as solid as they come. We have ceramic cartos being perfected. Passthrough's that can reach 5 to 6v's.

What else is there to do? lol.

The juices that are out are unreal. You actually have eliquids out there that have vitamins in them LOL.

If there is even better technology to come i can't wait to see it. But, because there are no regulations on any of this, that's why the evolution is happening so fast. Let's roll out 10-20 more mods before possibly regulations come so we can stock up 8)

Cheers!

Welcome to ECF, enjoy the ride. Vaping is so much fun, hard to believe we actually liked smoking.

Isn't it amazing how easy it was to transition? the patch, the gum, cold turkey. I just loved to smoke. And now, I couldn't imagine picking up another cigarette. I prefer the tastes of my eliquid!

I get there are people that love a nice tobacco eliquid. But, i'm just not one of them. Once you realize it's not the tobacco cigarette you crave and just the nicotine and the vapor/smoke exhale, you begin wanting to try new tasting flavors than just tobacco.

Right now, i'm sitting at my desk tooting on my 5v passthrough pondering the awesomeness (is that a word?) of the 5v wetbox i'm going to buy.

Also, i'm thinking about doing a youtube review when i receive it

Congrats on 7 months that's fantastic!

Y'know that was the easy part!! It just happened, it was not my intention.

With the tech part, I am just amazed at the developments that have taken place just over the few months since I started. I mean, I started with a Tornado out of TW in the UK (eGo).........couldn't buy it in too many places.....but got one and now these seem to be the starters ecig of choice.

But it is the Modders that I take my hat off to, those guys are really pushing this whole deal forward. BUT I've gotta say it's really hard to get your hands on some of the Mods when you live in Oz, we're just a long way away and the 'lottery' system of ordering doesn't work too well for those of us half a world away.

Anyway Jimmy, good to meet you and I can say I've had the pleasure of spending a couple of weeks in Orlando in 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Thanks for the response clark! and I have to say, quitting has become so easy because of the community!
I agree with the modders, these guys have come up with some amazing things. And at one point over the weekend, i've become more amazed (surprisingly) by the Atty's instead of the mods.
Yes, the helix and the pulse and the super T and Tekkon mod and the wetbox are amazing. BUT these new Royal Smokers Carto's and Clear Carto's look awesome!

Can you believe you don't smoke anymore? Clark, 7 months and you haven't touched a cancer stick... That's just amazing.
Every day you wake up, you may be a coffee drinker or a tea drinker. And 7 months and 1 day ago, you woke up with phlegm in the lungs coughing up a storm before toking on a analog and sipping on your morning blend. Smelling up your porch or car. Now, you wake up smiling and more energetic, without the lung problems sipping on your favorite blend again. But, being happy to know that you can toot on your Tornado mod without any bit of resentment or regret.

Congrats Clark. I've known you for only a few minutes and i'm proud of you.
