I just recently purchased an ipv d2 box mod with a joytech delta 2 tank due to limited funds. I'm running at 20 watts and keep burning my lvp coils in just a few days. Should i upgrade to the RBA coil? I just quit smoking 6 weeks ago and im not looking for huge clouds since I dont want to break the bank. I just want a more efficient vaping experience. I'm open for suggestions.

Hello and welcome to the forum @WraithorX. Glad to have you here!:)

Your coils should last much longer than two days if you are priming them well.

The cotton wicking material in these coils needs to be thoroughly saturated before using them, and it takes a while when you first load up a new coil. I like to drip 4-8 drops of juice down into the coil and a drop or two in each of the juice holes on the side of the coil.

I then put the coil into the tank, fill the tank and give it a few unpowered primer puffs. This should make sure you get the wick fully saturated.

Turn the wattage down, take a few hits, bump it up, a few more hits. Repeat until you find a setting that works great for you. If you start getting "dry hits", bump it down a notch or two.

If you don't want to use factory coils, the RBA base works very well.:)

Thanks Susan~S:). I started primming exactly how you suggested and it seems to be working fine. If i use the RBA base do i have to wrapp a new coil every time i change the cotton?

I'm a noob so what exactly does that mean?
Most regulated devices have what's called "boost and buck" circuitry. That means it will boost the battery limit higher or buck it lower. It allows you to put in a freshly charged 4.2v battery/cell in your device and vape at 6.4v or 3.7v. (or whatever volts are required to produce the watts you set it for in VW mode).

The IPV D2 can only boost, it cannot buck. So with a fully charged battery/cell it cannot give you less than 4.2 volts. You can get less voltage as the battery drains.

This doesn't apply to the equipment you are using. Buck regulators are absolutely necessary for batteries wired in series, which adds the voltage of each cell together. (2 batteries/cells in series = 8.4v) A buck circuit does not require having to use any of the batteries store power to meet the set voltage, it just restricts it's output (for lack of a better term). So if your in series batteries/cells are 8.4v and you wanna vape at 4.0v, a buck circuit is required.

Can i not use the RBA? I can buy one from joytech for my delta 2. Are you saying i need a bigger watt. Mod?
You're good. You can use the Joyetech Delta 2 RBA base. You don't need a different mod.

Regarding online purchasing, I often use vapeCrawler to see who has the best pricing. If I only want to see suppliers from the USA I make sure USA is "green" and all the others are "gray". If you go down to the very bottom of the page you can see all the vaping websites vapeCrawler searches.

I wouldn't say "most." In fact, it was unheard of until Evolv did it and then Yihi followed with the SX350. Even now, months later, it isn't common except in high-end devices.

Do any of Yihi's chips other than the SX350 have true buck circuitry?

Buck was unheard of until Evolv did it? That's funny, because the original Provari was bucking back in 2010, before Evolv even existed.

Buck is extremely common in low-end devices. For example, the MVP 2.0 stayed under it's 11W max output with a 1.0ohm coil. A 1.5ohm coil would exceed it's 11W output limit if it didn't buck.

And for the record, I think you'll find that Evolv didn't start bucking until the DNA40. Darwin, Kick, DNA20, and DNA30 are boost only chips. None of them can buck.

Most mods are EITHER buck or boost. It's finding a mod that does both that is rare.

Chasing clouds will not break your bank! In fact RDA's are cheaper than tanks!

Yeah, I've been looking into buying one for at home use but i want a higher end RDA. For now im satisfied with the RBA deck for my delta 2 sub tank. Running 1.1Ω 1/16 10 wrap micro coils at 13.5 watts and my Maxx VG Maniacal juice lasts for days.. Thanks for the advice though..

I just bought a ipv d2 with the crown rta ni200 coil in it running a 60vg 40 pg juice my first temp control mod by the way. Any advice out there on settings to run like wattage joules temp. I usually run 80 vg 20 pg juice but was low in Stock and am using the juice they sent with my order. I tried one tank of 80 vg at 30 watts and 35 - 40 joules 350 - 400 degrees and flavour lacked compared to same setting on the 60 vg juice any thoughts or tips would be much appreciated
