^^ Understood. I have seen post on here that say the Kanger sub tank does not perform well over 20w or so. It has the design I like best though. I will just try it out. If it doesn't work out I'll have a mod for that lonely dripper I have. I have also read in this thread people that are happy with this combination.

Not sure who you are listening to but most people that say something doesn't, when the majority are, is simply not able to adapt to their choice in equipment.

Get the subtank mini of the kangers, they are quite good, and much better than the subtank IMO. Its a great little tank, and has become my go to tank for work / extended trips out.

It does have the option for 1.2ohm coils too if you find the .5ohm ones overpowering, but honestly I am fine using the .5ohm coils 24-30w all day.

If, like me, you like a cooler vape and get an Atlantis which only comes with a 0.5 ohm coil, you'll end up wishing the Mini II did buck. But if you get a Kanger ST with the 1.2 ohm coils, you'll be able to set it anywhere from 12.5 watts and above with a fresh battery, and even lower after a few puffs.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Make that 14.5 watts instead of 12.5

planning to grab one in 2 weeks time,

can anyone confirm, how does it take to charge a battery on this mod?
on a pc?
or a car outlet maybe?

I don't always carry my charger so the usb charging is a cool fuinction for me.

It charges at .5A so about 4 or 5 hours depending on how drained the battery is and its capacity.

It takes about 4 hours. I tried it once, just to see. But it is SO MUCH easier just to swap out the batteries. I can charge 2 18650s in about 2.5 hours on my charger, and toss them in a case and into my purse, and TBH one 18650 in this mod lasts me most of the day vaping at 40+ watts pretty heavily. I have 5 batteries in rotation, and I can't believe that I resisted changeable batteries in mods for so long because it is so much simpler than waiting forever for my mod to charge.

I was leaving for work today, the mail was coming down the block, so I waited. Pleasant surprise I am now the owner of one these great mods. I got the black with the year of the goat. I will try the sub tank mini with it tomorrow. I had to source a battery locally, $10 for one LG he4. I am going to need to wait for some bills to be paid before I get a charger and a couple more batteries. Hope usb charging for a month or so won't ruin my battery. I put a kayfun with a 1.4 ohm coil on it and fired it at 7w. I didn't let the battery charge all the way so it was plugged into usb. Fried that poor cotton to bits. Lesson learned.

Was the cotton dry? Heh, that would do it. Otherwise it should have been fine.

Also note with a 1.4ohm coil you were really around 9, or 10w, which still should be fine. I ran my kfl on one of these at 12-15w no problem.

You may have thought 7w but the Mini 2 is only going down to 10w on 3.7v - Still should not have had issues unless you wicked to tight. I can run my Kayfuns at 11w-15w

Well, confession time. I did make a mistake and hit the button set at 25w for about 2 seconds. I realised it was set to high and dropped it to 7w. It still fired the cotton. It was plugged into my phone charger. I am using a max vg juice but on my mvp2 it wicks just fine. I'll wait until it is charged fully before trying again.

Charger has diddly to do with Squat! You are only talking about minute battery charging amperage. Your mistake, and I've done it, was hitting it at 25w. Yes, the wick will cook quickly and no chance for saving it after a 2+ second burn.

Mini 2 will run at 7w.......................... if you have a coil around 2.2ohms. No cut means minimum output is equal to Battery voltage for coil resistance.
If not comfortable with Ohms Law, grab a Chart for quick reference.

At risk of sounding like a complete idiot here just so I can grasp the whole wattage situation being discussed. I have a Nautilis Tank with 1.6 ohm coil that I run on a Istick at 15watts. Are what you guys are saying about wish it could buck etc, that 15 watts on the IPV is much higher then that of the istick? I have no issue vaping at lower wattage if need be. I just want to make sure i didn't just limit myself to running sub ohm tanks on the device.

You're fine with the 1.6ohm coils, you can run them at 15w on a mini II no problem.

at what kind of ohm's do i need to be worried?

Don't worry, be happy. ;)

There's nothing to really worry about, the mod just may not be accurate if you're trying to use less than 3.6v. Example, if you put a sub ohm tank with a .6ohm coil, and set the mod to 7 watt, it will still work just fine, but its not really 7w, more like 22w.
