I've got two and use both at work daily and so far they have had zero issues. I think it's like anything else and someone is going to get a lemon at some point. I recently picked up a Rose V2 (pallas) that everyone suggested and mine was a bust. The chimney wouldn't even screw onto the base. Swapped it and the new one is great.

This is a Feature, not a defect. Shozza just lost any credibility with me for reporting this as a warning. It is a function of the board, and tells you so when you hit the buttons. If you think you might actually set it, just turn the device OFF.

I haven't watched the video. Did he imply it was a defect? Or did he imply that you should be aware of it as you might accidentally do it? Particularly if you're more accustomed to DNA Chios that require multi-button pressing for less potentially harmful features. (E.g. Left/right/stealth modes)

Please:
Read your owners manual - Press +/- together to activate Mobile Charge Mode
Power is output through the 510 to provide power to a Phone charging Adapter.

Also - I own (2) Black IPV - mini and cannot, for the life of me, get either one to replicate the issue.
I can take my tank off - Switch to mobile - Read 5.17v at the 510 continuous - place the Kayfun on the IPV mini and it does NOT fire.
Remove it and power output is restored.

Maybe there is a random issue in a number of early release units.

He compared it to DNA style boards - well, this isn't that board. The whole review was more focused around this Feature-as-warning than an actual review. I do not think he actually read the manual. His review was slanted towards people coming, as you stated and as did he, from a DNA-style board. But it is not that board.

Will people switch it on because they think it's something else and because they didn't take 10 seconds to read small user manual: yes. That is user error, not a fault of the device.

Even if it's not, people relate things. That's how a lot of non-hobbyist vapors learn. Hell, that's how most people learn. And then they read the manual. So, slanted or not, your statements imply that he did indeed mention it as a feature and not a defect which satisfies your need for truism. At the same time, he also gave the perspective of, "Hey, this might catch you off-guard as its not like the mods you may be used to" which is also valid.

Additionally, every other PV I've owned that had this feature had a safety cut off which prevents if from firing while an atty is in place as opposed to when the connector is on. Also, a friend has the same device and did not experience the thing firing with the atty on in mobile mode until you shut it off. So, in my opinion, this is a less than the best design. Having said that, I should probably also mention it was not the only reason I asked for a replacement.

I hated how he kept saying it like it was a defect. I think in the manual it says not to have an atomizer connected when putting it into mobile mode. I don't have mine anymore, but I'm pretty sure I saw something like that in there. I usually like his "reviews" but that one was kind of dumb.

What did you do with your IPV mini?
