Got both of these today. I LOVE the ipv Mini! Threw my Samsung 25R in, set it to 17.5W on a 1 ohm coil and I'm in heaven.

My ipv mini should arrive tomorrow and my favorite tanks are ready. But I'm like most vapers and I am always looking to buy more, lol soooo, Is this Lemo y'all speak of good for someone new to building? If I had a wish list on an RTA it would be...
Easy for someone new to building
Works well with single coil builds
Large deck & wick space (so i dont mess up my coil trying to get wick in place)
And... here the biggest wish- posts that have a 'push' option rather than screws for attaching coil legs cause most of my builds get twisted once I get to this point :( got any recommendations?

The Lemo is a "screw" type for attaching the coils, as is the Kayfun.

If you like very "airy" draws, the Lemo is your best bet. If you like "tighter" draws, then the Kayfun is a good option.

Both are single coil, and easy to build on.

I always leave the bit or screwdriver that I used to wrap the coil in while attaching the screws. That way, you can hold everything tight while screwing the screws down. Otherwise, as you said, it ends up twisting and not properly sitting over the airhole, and if you tighten the coil without the bit inside, a lot of time the coil can get so twisted up that you can't reinsert the bit to straighten it out so I just let it sit in the coil the whole time.

On a side note, I noticed my eleaf ohm reader gives vastly different readings than my IPV. I did a dual coil, 8 wrap 24g build on the Big Dripper and checked the resistance with the eleaf and it said ~1.07 ohms. Seemed suspiciously high, and when I put it on the Mini and tried to fire it it said .2 ohms and gave me a low resistance warnings. I trust the IPV way more than the ohm reader, but it's scary because I was throwing those builds onto my mech mod and thinking they were safe, even though .2 ohms is way too low for my batteries.

The push posts are a lot better on paper than they are in real world function. I would avoid them.

So I ordered a 510 to USB adapter from fasttech hoping it would provide the missing piece to the mini's mobile power mode. I have searched high and low for how to do this. There is no mention anywhere about it or where to purchase the adapter so I took a gamble. Nothing. It obviously has to come from the 510 because of what happens when an atomizer is attached. And I would assume that the wiring would be rather simple (positive and negative). Not the case. I'm gonna email them and see if I can get an answer. I'm kinda bummed. This was the one feature that I was looking for during pre-sales. Has anyone ever seen anything about this other than the feature description itself?

Is your iPV Mini really giving you the watts you set in the display? > >

If your Mini is like my Mini, then you are getting less watts of power to your coil than what you set in the display, and the reason why this is true is because, like my Mini, the ohms of resistance that the Mini displays for your coil is actually lower that what the correct ohms of the coil is.

These are my findings, using an accurate Fluke multimeter:

I select 11.0 watts on my Mini ... With my coil attached, the display screen shows the coil resistance to be 1.7 ohms, and the voltage to be 4.3v

But, reading from the Fluke multimeter, the coil is actually 2.1 ohms, and the voltage supplied to the coil is really 4.5v when firing in the DC-DC mode.

If we use Ohms Law, we find that a 2.1 ohm load that is fed 4.5v is actually burning at 9.6 watts.
__________________________

So, the results show that we had set 11.0 watts into the Mini, but the Mini really only supplied 9.6 watts to the coil .... That is 1.4 watts lower than we had actually wanted to get from our Mini.
__________________________

In this case, if we indeed want exactly 11.0 watts to our coil, we would need to set the Mini at 12.4 watts (+1.4 watts)
__________________________

Now your Mini may not be indicating your coil ohms 0.4 ohms too low, like mine ... but you can now see how this effects the watts of power it's [really] feeding your coil.

I saw those eleaf ohm readers for sale and my first thought was no way. Given the "quality" of the electronics in an istick, I won't be trusting that either.

I wouldn't trust a box ohm reader ... But I do have 100% faith in the very expensive Fluke multimeter I was using, and I can tell you that the majority of the iPV Mini users here have reported that there Mini always reads coil ohms lower than actual.
Hi, did you subtract the internal resistance of the Fluke?

Believe it or not I am still vaping on a Silver Bullet + 306LR after all these years. I just ordered myself one of these after looking over all the competition and watching lots of Youtube videos and reading lots of ECF threads. Hope I like it.

Lol vapenstein, your old school for sure.
I remember using my infinity pro that kept having to be repaired. Silver bullet is 2010 gear at it's best !
I loved my 306 lr atty's too.
But now you get this or the clapour mini 30w (looks nicer) and is smaller, and u jam an atlantis tank, and the 306
and SB will feel like you were stoneaging it.

i'm getting that clapour mini when it comes out in a week.
Using istick right now..and i get alot of vapor allready.
take care
vapenstein

Okay, I'm going to make this suggestion to ALL IPV Mini Owners.
If YOUR Mini is Reading substantially incorrect, i.e. .3+/- ohms different than an Accurate Test meter reveals.
Contact - Pioneer For You - E-mail: denny@pioneer4you.com
Everyone should Target the same Rep. for maximum effectiveness.
Include place of Purchase and a Brief description of the problem.

Contact your Selling Vender with the same information and ask about correcting the issue.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

Manufacturer needs to Know a problem exist in order to correct the problem. They rarely read forum complaints.
This issue may be as simple as a firmware update and easily fixable.
_________________________________________________________________________________________

As to Watts Displayed being incorrect - Doh, never thought to mention this as I assumed anyone with any understanding of ohms law would realize it.
I also made the mistake of thinking people would work toward their SWEET SPOT which is most enjoyable and has NOTHING to do with Displayed data.

**** Have a nice Day****

Enjoying my mini rather than going crazy over display readings.:)

Flt Simulation - how old is your Fluke and has it been Re-calibrated and Verified.

I ask because I have not been able to get mine sent off and I have now confirmed it is almost .2 High on the Readings compared to 4 other meters I have. Mine is many, many years old with a hard working service record. No doubt it needs recalibrating................ or maybe I just need a fresh battery.

@@@@ETA: NOT making Excuses for this or any device.
This is a New release with a NEW YiHi Chip. If there is an issue with yours - LET THEM KNOW
Complaining here is fine and we can compare notes but it will not resolve anything.
LET THEM KNOW

After all, it is YOUR MONEY and you have a right to expect any purchase to work as advertised.
