Well had my ipv mini for 24 hours, and I think it is awesome for the price, think it is a very solid device for the price, I was considering on doing a pre-order for the new ipv V4, but was waiting till I got the ipv mini first, as haven't had any P4Y products till now, well after only 24 hours with the mini has made my mind up on the IPV V4 and just placed my order :D

The only negative to the mini so far for me, is how dull the screen goes after firing, but not a big deal, and don't like the hex screw heads showing on one side, but have wrap coming, so that will be resolved.

I hope you have Big hands. That IPV4 is a beast. I really like the design and build but realized it wouldn't be comfortable for me. No problem though. The IPV mini 2 is great with 70w of oomph!!!!:D

Was wondering if i could do a full reboot by pulling all power....Does this thing have a reset or a small internal batt. ? :

First............Why the big type? I'm 1/2 blind and can read it crystal

Actually, First clean BOTH contacts and the Battery ends with Alcohol. Press the Power button several times before putting the battery back in.
Take it for another spin. If it still gets wonky you may as well contact Asmodus for warranty service.

I've had mine scramble/blink/shut off/not power and every time it seems it was the bottom cap not making good contact.

Well as luck would have it, my IPV mini has decided to crap the bed. other night it just turned itself off several times and would not respond to the 5 clicks has to remove the battery to restart it. Then yesterday when I turned it on the screen was all garbled and un legible cycled it on and off several times and it finally cleared up vaped on it for a few hours andit started the same behavior now all I get is the garbled screen. I noticed that when it did clear up for a few hrs the display was pulsating whenever it was firing. I never noticed that before. Oh well contacted the dealer i bought it from waiting to hear back. Sad part is it started this right after I put the skin on it so now I've wasted a skin cause I've removed it to return the device. And it was working perfectly until it started this strange behavior.

I pray mine doesnt die....it's my only mod capable of going under 1ohm..

Thanks...I'll try it. My bottom cap is wonky as hell.

My first one did the same thing a couple of times before it finally died. Might as well send it back. It doesn't get any better.

Got my IPV mini last week and LOVE it. Use it mostly with my Segelei dripper but have put a Taifun on it from time to time. Problem is it has, on 2-3 occasions, caused me to get dry/burnt hits. With the dripper I am set usually around 20 watts. No dry hits with Segelei. With the Taifuns sometimes as low as 7.5. I know most will say it is my topper causing dry hits but it is with different Taifuns and different juices and I have put same Taifun on another device (Vamo, Provari, MPV) and it does not happen,
Guess my question is: Is this device like the Istick, where as it has to be set much lower?
Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated

The SX130 in that Mini will boost about 1v higher than it's set for, for about 1 second, then goes down to normal expected voltage based on your wattage settings. Some say that's a feature, some say it's a bug.

So yeah, if you're right on the edge the power limit for a topper it might cause a problem, as it hits harder on the initial firing. Back down a few tenths on the wattage of your RTA, see if that helps..

You have not set it properly for the Taifun. Not the Device or tank - your selection.
For any tank/topper to run under 12w(approx) you Need to be capable or operating below Battery Voltage.

Read instruction and set the Mini to PWM
Install Taifun and adjust power setting to 5w
    Give that a try
Adjust up to a nice vape power

IPV Mini is NOTHING like an iStick in function and far more regulated.

The manual would not have told you to use PWM for lower wattage use but it does tell you how to set it to that mode (hold power button and the up button at the same time). This device can only go below battery voltage in PWM mode. DC buck would have been nice especially for sub ohm use.

Unfortunately the manual, like most Chinese made product manuals isn't fit to wipe your rear end with! Let alone tell you (in actual English) how to operate and care for your iPV mini!

But they do give you a Nice IPV mini 30w manual for your Mini 70w:facepalm:

Update: My IPVmini continued to get worse and worse and by this morning I was having to pull the Battery once every 30 min. or so.. While pulling the Batt. I looked at the threading on the cap and noticed that its chrome coating was worn completely off. This made me wonder about the coating and its current conductivity. Just to see how it worked I placed a piece of Heavy gauge aluminum foil into the bottom of the cap, allowing enough foil overhang to catch the threading and screwed it back in place. It has been over 10 hours and I vaped heavy during the super bowl and no more screen scramble at all. I'm wondering if the board detects conductivity problems and shuts down? It took mine 5 weeks to act up but My batt. cap was undamaged when I bought the device and I've heard others say theirs were bent when received.. I'll keep you guys posted- Dave

Anything is plausible, but my one Cap has been bare Brass on the threading for weeks now without effecting the function.
Cap is threading into a brass threaded sleeve held in place by 2 pins. I think(CRS syndrome) there is a wire attached to the ring for Board ground. There is also a board ground soldered near the 510 connector. One of these connections may be at issue.

I posted pics of the internals way back in the thread.
