Another thing I noticed earlier when I put the inline voltage meter on the Atlantis and mini earlier was at 3.0v on the mini the meter read 3.9v. Again I know that isn't the best test, but leads me to think this doesn't buck voltage like the specs indicate.

We'll find out more about that after Phil's review.

If you were running DC-DC, no it doesn't. It would be at Battery minimum. Switch to PWM and it should drop. I have confirmed a large output margin by switching at lower wattages< Below 10-12 watts> 5 watt reaction is a major change.

Ah, gotcha, that explains it, I was using DC-DC mode.

the mini will only "buck" in PWM mode :)

oops, already been meantioned, didn't see crxess' post

Had no response from elev8 after 5 days regarding my faulty one, forwarded the same email to them again saying I am still waiting for a response and they replied saying the order has been refunded, you will receive the refund in 3-5 business days. It was a nice surprise, I was expecting to have to send the device back or maybe a refund for the device but not the shipping cost but they appear to be refunding the whole lot. Probably not worth the trouble and cost of international shipping to replace or return the device I guess.

OWNER Damage Report:
Well I guess I'm first in line to admit damaging an IPV Mini
The unit still works fine, but I'll have to watch out for a replacement part.

**Exercise Caution with a Magma or any LONG 510 Device**

An overly long 510 fitting seems to be able to Split the center pin fiber washer - if over tightened. This can cause the center pin to shift off center.
Not sure how difficult this will be to replace, but eventually it will need to be done. No doubt, once split, the washer will eventually fail all together. So far, using caution and verifying Atomizer readings, the unit is still functioning fine.

As stated, this is a user induced failure. Just be careful of what you are attaching and how tight you secure it.

Shaky hands and small part - lol
Just look down at the 510 center pin. You will see a Flat fiber washer that surrounds it and likely sits on top of the spring.
It is a very thin Disc and probably is to keep the spring away from the outer housing to avoid shorting.
I have a feeling the 510 may have to be pressed out to replace, then pressed back in.(Maybe)

Sorry, I'm just not ready to tear this one down for a third time right now.

**oh, the picture someone from Australia posted shows the washer clearly........and Busted out

Ignorance is bliss: I really don't understand the ohm/wattage/whatever stuff all that well, I just know that I've had this thing two weeks now and absolutely love it. I just screw on my Aspire Atlantis tank, set the device on 30w and it's a perfect vape for my taste.

That being said, I'm sure I'll buy v2 when it comes out just because this one has been so good.

I think if you stay away from the limits of the device you'll be very happy. If you want to run a .5 ohm coil or max out the wattage, you'll probably run into problems. If on the other hand you like to use higher ohm coils at lower wattages, you won't run into the limitations or any problems with the IPV (not including build quality issues). I've had no problems with mine and am kind of tempted by the v2 as well.

Have to disagree, at least in comparison to several other 30w or less mods.
I have been running one of mine with the .6ohm orchid since I received it. Been steadily running at 30w for the last week and absolutely love the performance.
Is the mini perfect? Not even close, but no more or less than any other Regulated out of China.
My second unit has been my play/test toy and has been a blast to tinker with.

Okay, just for giggles:
Just tossed a 510/ego adaptor on one
Topped it with a T3-mini with my Cappuccino mix
Switched to PWM with a 2.5ohm coil
5w = sucking on nada, getting next to nothing
7w = Okay, now this is working right. Flavor is accurate and more dynamic than on the eVic @ 7w
Vapor is 20-30% more

Yes, I think I wasted the money ordering a Cloupor mini. The IPV is much more versatile and looks more correct with most tanks/RDA's

Received the mini from Vape NW today. So far very pleased with it. The tank sits flush on top but I can feel the spring pin the last couple of turns. Thank god its not a fixed pin. Couple of things I think would make it better: brighter display when in dim mode, the volts show higher than what I think are actual. The ohm reading seems spot on.

Have a question about battery meter. Is the correct reading when the unit in standby mode? The meter goes almost to the bottom when the fire button is pressed

Volts shown are what is formulated for wattage selected. may or may not always match output.
Battery reading is when dormant. Press up and wait. Memory slot will show then data.
Dip is power drawn to deliver wattage. The higher the charge and stronger the battery(Deep discharge) the less the drop.

Well, I've had my mini for exactly a week today, and the finish is already rubbing off of it. I bought the "black" one that is actually gun metal, and right around the screen area is where the finish is rubbing off. Admittedly, I've had my booger-hooks wrapped around it quite frequently, but I'd think it would take a bit more than a week for this to start happening. Anyone else noticing this? I'll see if I can post a pic here in a little bit.

got it at VR on pre-order (blk) only took a week, it's the same thing as the IPV Mini except it's a tad shorter/lighter and squared and the resistance reads perfect and came with a silicone sleeve and the magnetic battery door is on the side, have a blk rogue on it and it looks fantastic.....works great so far, so the question is which do i like better and the answer is the Sig Mini....yet they are both great devices.
Sando, you don't happen to have a DNA30 box to compare them to do you? I want a 20-30w replacement for the ol MVP with a replaceable battery and I can't decide between the Sig Mini, IPV Mini, or just spending another $20 to get a diy DNA30 kit..

Yes, mine is around the curve. I palm it curve in.
I just blame mine on Vapohalism:laugh:
At one point I held on for so long it started to take root.

Actually, it doesn't bother me since I have seen many of the painted(anodized) mods fad fast. I figure when it starts getting really bad a skin will cure everything. :toast:

My wife's silver one hasn't started to fade/finish rub off persay, but it does scratch super easy, and its starting to look a little rough around the edges. She is admittedly rough on her mods, so it doesn't surprise me, but the paint isn't chipping off at all, so that is good.

On a side note I was at a B&M today and saw the IPV mini priced for $80, lol.

Picked up a Mini today, it's much smaller than it looks in pictures! Feels great in the hand, love the form factor, but I've been having the same resistance errors as most other people, although it seems to be better at higher resistance. I have a .76 coil that reads .6 on the mini, a .94 that reads .8, and a 1.15 that reads at 1.1

I'm actually kind of liking the memory function, I've been running my orchids at 30w and my kayfuns at either 16, 18, or 20 watts so I can switch power levels for different attys a lot faster than usual. Even though the buttons rattle a bit they feel way better than the buttons in the IPV2, especially the wattage adjustment ones.

I'm also a bit confused as to what the DC-DC vs PWM settings are actually doing, considering all variable devices use PWM, does the PWM setting just bypass the post-PWM filtering or what?

BTW anyone know why mine has some funky symbol on the side and others don't?
