I noticed a lot of owners report the device has wonky ohm detection. I had that too, but I was able to zero it out to how the atomizer is screwed. The tighter it is, the lower the ohms. The loser it is higher. I'm currently using it with an Atlantis which we all know is a 0.5 ohm. If it screw it too tight it would read as 0.4 ohms. Easy fix is to not over tighten the tank and tighten it enough so it stays at 0.5 ohms all day. Hope this helps

tank screwed a little less tight and stays at 0.5ohms all day long.

I'll try that out later, thanks for the tip.

Normally I have been tightening down the Atlantis so it sits flush on the mini, but know it is depressing the floating 510 pin down a good bit.

[edit]

I had to back it out quite a bit to get the Atlantis to read at .5o:

That is just silly though. I may eventually replace the 510 with one from varitube.

In most cases that is a waste of time. The reason it is reading higher is because the threading is not secure and the contact is less. Every decent device would read higher in that instance.

Wow, mine isn't as bad as yours. Mine is still flush, all it takes for mine is not to over tighten it. You may want to try adjust the screw inside. Definitly not a waste of time on mine. Consistent ohm readings all day long.

I'm rocking my first dual-coil RDA build!!!!! Right now, it's 28g, 10/9 around a 1/8" bit. Right about 1 ohm. My meter reads about 1.02; iPV reads right at 1.... Wicked with Koga (my b&m didn't have KGD) and running 0mg max VG (about 20p/80v) juice.... DAY-YUMMMMMMMM I only have the Mini set at about 22.5W

Certainly a treat - thickest, whitest vapor I've ever experienced. (I normally run about 60p/40v DIY) through kanger PT2s or Nautis.

Really making me want either an Atlantis or a Kanger Subtank - I'm just too lazy to drip, but I really like the results.....

A waste to replace the 510? Or loosen the atomizer?

Thanks.

What batteries are you using?

Samsung 25R or the LG HE

Compared to? We cannot see your collection from here.:)

Both of mine last about the same at comparable wattage. That is all that really matters.

Have you noticed you are using it more than others?

LOL no data collection to share crxess, mostly just and observation and a comparison to my SX Mini. Not a huge deal I have plenty of batteries and like the PV. It was one of those" do you ever wonder" questions.

The SCREW is NOT an adjustment Screw. It has a wire soldered at the bottom that will get twisted. Spring Loaded 510

Loosening the 510 excessively. :) Doubt replacing the 510 will increase ohms either. It is a Ground outside, Power center pin, seperated by an insulator.
Ground should be 100% otherwise it would read high. Ground cannot be beyond 100%

The poster reporting low/correct may have twisted the center screw and is now having slight short issues at full tight. <Pin fully depressed internal to the mod>

It is more likely the Chip is reading After board resistance incorrectly. Could be the wire used is shorter than planned or the wire is thicker than planned in programming the chip.

Chip has to take into account all contact parts outboard in calculating resistance.
Total resistance from the Chip (+) out to the Chip (-) in and exclude the (presumably) known preexisting value.

OK, cool. I'll just leave well enough alone, it works fine still.

Hopefully pioneer4you gets the mini 2 right, I have a feeling I may pick up one for myself.

DO NOT attemp to adjust the screw in the 510. It is spring loaded and NON ADJUSTABLE. You will definately snap the positive wire if you attempt to adjust it.

I have not touched the center pin at all. Didn't need to. Just didn't over tighten the tank. Just mentioned that to him as I assumed could be adjusted, since he has to almost fully unscrew his tank. I stand corrected. Anyways I found the sweet spot when tightening my tanks and all read correctly now. May be worth trying, may work for other people too.

So Cal
I've had my ipv mini for 5 days now and I love it!

Observations from a newb:

  • This thing is a lil bif, but it feels awesome in the hand!
  • I thought I had a used mod because of the scratches on the front display/button area, but the protective plastic started coming off last night and I realized the issue.
  • My ohms are spot on for both my Kanger aerotank v1 and new Aspire Atlantis, so I guess Pioneer4U sorted that out... or I got lucky. Not sure which!
  • I've noticed the need to adjust with a change in ejuice.
  • Mine is Silver as I didn't like the Black (Grey), thinking of a wrap.
  • Why, if China is the largest English speaking nation, cant they get translation right? The Instructions STINK! Too much guess work with bad English translation! I keep accidentally re-writing memory settings to the point I don't bother anymore! Hire someone good to produce a users manual if you intend on selling in the USA!
  • My local shops owner told me that P4U is going to release a firmware update in the very near future that will allow increased wattage.
  • I'm loving this unit!

Pretty silly that they a put a screwdriver flat on it, huh?

I turned mine the day I got it, before I realized it was spring loaded. Glad it didn't break.

I thought yihi and p4u stated many times this isn't firmware upgradeable at all. Seems to me your b&m guy is wrong, sorry.

No.

You only have a choice of silver or black (closer to a gun metal) I'm opting for a wrap to personalize mine.

The mini is also offered in blue, and gold. I've seen a limited edition Pink one too.
