If it is built as advertised it will not. A Mechanical would. A regulated is designed to know and react.
Not to argue, but I have fiddled with Regulated mods and various batteries for several years.
Undercurrent Protection
cool thing is when in PWM mode and it hits a point where it can regulate it switches to DC-DC modeGood video by Busardo .... Just what I posted before .... The mini will [not] lower output voltage below existing battery voltage while in DC-DC mode

But how does any kind of regulated mod controller chip know what kind of battery it is using? Many of these chips have things like Internal Temp Protection and Undervoltage Protection, sure, but those are on the chip side and shouldn't we be more worried about Overcurrent on the battery side? Especially when all these batteries experience voltage sag under load, which then causes the chip to immediately jack up the amp draw from that sagging battery every single time the fire button is pressed.
I'm just saying.
Of course, if the battery never gets hot and the mini never wigs out then it certainly stands to reason that all is well and nothing is at this moment wrong or dangerous. .
Sadly, my new Cloupor Mini Kicks these right in the But for output @ 30w. Almost doubled the Cloud production on my Magma's and I had to throttle back to 25w to match performance. :

Not knocking the IPv, just a noticeable difference in the two. The IPV is definitely more versatile and feels more solid in construction.
If I had to drop one, I would hope it was the IPV Mini. I already know it can take a hard hit.![]()

Please see PBusardo's Video Review for a clear understanding.
Check Batt error - excessive Battery sag.
Are you running it in DC or PWM mode? I switched back to PWM after PBusardo's vid, and I had noticed hotter hits in DC... he explained all! Nice to see such a detailed review on this Mod!
What do you guys think about the 10 second cutoff? I wish it was longer personaly but I don't own one.
Both of mine are normally on DC-DC, but I run mostly 12w+ and usually 20w+
Got these for my Orchid tanks - 25/30w and RDA's 20/30w
Didn't PBusardo suggest that PWM is better (due to over voltage in DC-DC) in the vid review? I set mine back to PWM from DC-DC as I think its why I was frying my coils/wicks in the Atlantis.
16 second mouth to lung hits are not a problem for me, usually only when blowing clouds. 10 second hits quite often
robertr .... My bet is that you never smoked cigarettes that way.
