And I've got the opposite problem that Raguvian does!

Question: I'm running a .6 ohm single coil on the ipv mini at 8.5 watts! That goes against everything I understand about ohms law!

But I'm really happy with the flavor, the vapor production, everything! Am I gonna do any harm to the ipv running a sub-ohm coil at wattage this low?

No, but you might crud up your coils pretty fast.
You are vaping that coil Luke warm and barely evaporating the e-liquid.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to harm anything. Are you in PWM or DC-DC mode? In DC-DC it can't regulate that low so it is probably putting out more than 8.5 watts.

It was in DC mode with the RDA on there. I switched it back to PVM when I put a 2.5 ohm factory BCC coil/tank on there. It automatically switches back to DC mode when I put a sub-ohm topper on it.

When you are in DC mode the device does not regulate below around 4v, basically it begins behaving like a mechanical mod. Even though the screen said you were at 8 watts or whatever, it was more like 25w or so.

For you guys using wraps on your mini, can the seam on the back of the mod be seen through the wrap or does it cover it completely?

I'd like to know that as well, although mines on the way already.
I'd also like to know if there are cutouts for the hex heads on the vaporskinz?

Here's mine with the Mahogany wrap from VS, no cut outs and the seam does not show. My wrap from JW did show the hex holes :(

Not even close - 2.5ohm coil = 7watts(avg. @ 4.2v) so yes they could set and get 8 watts in DC-DC.

Never mind, I see you were referring to the .8 RDA build.
.8ohm on a fully charged battery(4.2v) - 22.05 watts.

 Even with my Edit, I missed. To many post going on!

.6ohm 4.2v = 29.4 watts

Heh, no worries. I have seen the IPV mini outputting as low as 3.9-4.0v on DC, so I was using that for an estimation.

Either way, 25-29w, is still a lot higher than the 8.5w the screen was showing, and what they thought they were vaping at. ;)

That looks sharp! I have a jwrap on mine, as you know the hex screws indent. I wonder is your wrap covering the entire mod? On mine you see edges... got a oic of tge front/screen?

Man the wood grained skins look awesome on our mod! I cannot wait for my VS to show up (checking usps now)!

geekmedic: how did you post such a large image? All I can post are thumbnails... ???

Anybody know what the low battery voltage cutoff is on the mini? I tend to change my batteries out at 3.5v but have as yet not hit the low voltage warning. Better yet, have I missed a "hidden" combination of button presses which will reveal the actual battery voltage instead of the "glass half full" battery icon? BTW, in case you missed it, my mini is jet black and a V1. If it's a knockoff, it's a darn good one.......

I believe it is 3.2v, which is lower than I prefer to drain my batteries.

---UPDATE---

If you build your own coils and use this Mod, you are safe. It does have a built in short protection circuit. Don't ask how I know, but you'll see the "Check Atomizer" message if you have a short!

LOL!

I have tested this feature many times.......:lol::lol:
