For some reason it appears to only be an issue with the "black" one. A friend has the blue one and it doesn't have the same issue with the finish rubbing off. I really wish they'd make a silicone sleeve for these, I'd buy one for sure.
Found a silicone sleeve for the mini on eBay...c'mon vapemail! Should be here hopefully by Thursday...can't wait to see how it fits

Got my "black" IPV mini just before Christmas. The finish started rubbing off within two weeks. I decided to get a skin for it to protect what was left. The unprotected surfaces are still losing finish (they almost have a copper-y look) and the buttons have completely lost their finish. Other than that, it still works like a champ. I just wish my fingers didn't smell like metal after using it.
Just ordered the clear one myself. They were out of black and green. If you have an IPV Mini, I recommend looking into the silicone case -- comes in a lot of colors.
Got my black silicone sleeve in today, and it's a perfect fit...looks pretty slick, if I might say myself. Traded out the red o-rings for the black ones on the Subtank Mini and found a nice carbon fiber tip to complete the look.

Does the sleeve make the IPV less stable standing? Since it goes around the bottom it looks like it might tilt it towards the battery cap.
unfortunately the sleeve does make it a little less stable while standing
